Yeah, I missed the screening they had at SDCC. But I got one of the promo discs that WB was handing out and I'll definitely be picking up the DVD!

It's a good movie and yes it's more violent than the old show. Definetly some ouch moments in that one.

is this coming out soon?? i cant wait to watch it!

*shameless plug*

I have the Warner Bros duffle bag from SDCC up for auction HERE

Eh hem, yes it DOES look good too!

I've been anxiously awaiting this one. How true is it to the source material? I would guess not very much, but I think it can still be good.

quite possibly the best superman film to date, atleast as far as I'm concerned. I'd heard it was good, but WOW those clips make me want to buy it.

The new design of Superman makes him look much older, but probably in motion it won't make that much difference. One of my favorite parts of the saga was the Reign of the Superman story, but in the trailer and all the clips there doesn't seem to be any thing of the other Supermen. But I'm definitely getting it as soon as it comes out.

Nice neck break on a cartoon

Watching those fight clips makes be wish even more that the Wachowski Brothers could have made Superman Returns instead of Singer.

This is the story (DOOMSDAY) that I wish had been told in the '06 Supes movie... I understand a rebooting and a connection to the original Donner?Reeve 70's film--- but this unstoppable force would have made for a much more compelling (and jaw-dropping fight) than anything Spacey's Luthor could bring.

Superman: DOOMSDAY - Who's getting it?

I'm waiting for mine copy to be deliveried down here is Melbourne, Australia. So who's getting and what did you think of it for those who've seen it?

Re: Superman: DOOMSDAY - Who's getting it?

Ooohh is this out already? I saw a preview awhile ago, but didn't realise it had come out. Where did you get it from?

This looks great and has two of my favourite actors voicing the main roles - Adam Baldwin as Superman and James Marsters as Lex Luthor.

Looks awesome :)

Re: Superman: DOOMSDAY - Who's getting it?

I was thinking of getting it for my son who loves superheroes, but I noticed that it was PG-13 and I wasn't sure whether or not it would be too intense for him. It looks like they were targeting a slightly older audience with this one. I thought it odd that an animated Superman movie was rated PG-13. Is it really violent, or what? Has anybody who has seen it care to comment? Is it too much for a kid in Kindergarten? He is still too scared to watch Lord of the Rings, for example.

Re: Superman: DOOMSDAY - Who's getting it?

Just picked my copy up. going to watch it soon.

Re: Superman: DOOMSDAY - Who's getting it?

Watched it today and thought it was pretty good. The story wasn't quite like the one from the comics, but a new, and just as good, retelling. The animation was about the same as Justice League Unlimited as far as quality with the characters getting an updated look.
The one thing I didn't like was the new lines they drew on Supes face.

Other than that little annoyance, I thought the movie rocked.

As far as kids watching... it might be too intense for a 5 or 6 year old. Doomsday actually kills people, snaps necks and such, and there's blood and all. A little more risque than the TV shows with sexuality, I can see some people getting upset by Lois and Superman lounging around the Fortress of solitude in bath robes before she even knows he's Clark. All of this practically happens in the first 5-10 minutes, so I'm not really spoiling anything..... I hope. There is even a little swearing, but not much.

The best part is in the special features there is a teaser for "Justice League: New Frontier."

Re: Superman: DOOMSDAY - Who's getting it?

I'm not a Superman fan, but I'll see this to see Superman get the crap kicked out of him. The Death of Superman is the only Superman comic I own for the obvious reason. I always felt he was "too" powerful for a superhero. Then a whimpy little peice of his home planet can kill him  Not my kind of Superhero. Batman has always been my favorite DC Superhero (actually the only DC hero I actually know something about I guess  )

So this did come out today then? I have to stop by Blockbuster and rent it tomorrow (if they have it).
