Very cool! Thanks for the link Paul.... I am very excited to see this film... It's been something that fans have talked about for a long time and it's going to be nice to sit down and finally see what might have been...

My sentiments too Josh. :D

I can't belive Donner didn't get a check for this.

Yeah, that's pretty messed up for the studio to not give him at least a little of putting this together. Just shows how deep that bad blood flows...

At least it's happened. Now we all can see what his vision was originally for this film.

I can't wait for Amazon to ship mine out. :lol

I remember the awesome scene from the Donner Cut we saw at SDCC. Can't wait to get this bad boy and will pick up on Tuesday.

Wow, no pay check? Donner is a class act.

Thanks for the link, pjam. Interesting reading. Can't wait to check out the DVD. :D

My pleasure guys, gonna be a real treat, enjoy!

And please post your reviews here! :D

Be advised: Warner botched the sets. The '78 theatrical S:TM has the wrong audio track, and they put the old movie-only version of Part 3 in the set instead of the new Deluxe Edition. They're offering replacements but not recalling the sets.

Here's a link to the Digital Bits' reports/updates on the matter.

That really pisses me off. Why can't they just get it right, they've had SO much time to do so. Oh well, as long as I get the donner cut unblotched, I'll be happy.

Please post your review here T.O.M.

Oh, I see there's a new thread for this, maybe dave can combine them... thanks all for your comments. :D

Huge Superman 1 and 2 fan here. I even liked a lot of part 3 too.

I just watched Donner's version on HD DVD.

I hate to say it but I was really let down with it.

I know they did the best they could but it felt REALLY choppy.

The new musical score is a let down too. The score of the original Superman II was MUCH better IMO. It just flowed so much smoother.

The whole movie just felt empty to me. I liked the Brando scenes but overall I will watch Lester's Superman II from now on.

There were too many classic moments missing for me, like Superman's return to Metropolis where the music comes in and he then says, "General, would you care to step outside." and the fight begins. (they changed it up).

Or, "I expect better manners from my guests."
There was not even a fight at the Fortress of Solitude!

The dialog was really sloppy at times too.

Oh well...I just hope we get Lester's Superman II on HD DVD at some point.

My biggest problem is Zod. In Lester's part II, Zod had a LOT more character.
