I love it. Good or bad, it is something different.
Agreed. Comic movies are like politics. There is a lot of course correction that happens over time. Having said that, very few things will appeal to everyone, and every once in awhile fans will have to wait out what they don't like until they get what they do. I had to wait out the Snyder stuff while others were loving it. There is an approach of style and sensibility that won't appeal to everyone with James Gunn. But personally I'm all for it. On Gunn's very first DC project he brings us Polka Dot Man, Starro, and turns a wacky and forgotten character like Peacemaker into a star. I'm excited to see Mxyzptlk, Super Pets, and even Captain Carrot down the road. I also hope he leans in with the Charlton characters. Ted Kord is one of my favorite comic characters, and there is tremendous potential for the Question, as Justice League Unlimited and the new animated Crisis movies showed.

The new DC Studios intro... F YEAH!

Apparently it's been out for a while, but this is the first time I've seen it.

I saw that the other day. Each to their own but I find this very underwhelming.

EDIT: Why is there a chain just around his chest?

It's an iconic image of Superman back in his origin days from DC. Used in many different things. Here is an actual video of someone explaining it..

Many artists have copied it over the years.

Earlier last week I saw Gunn commenting that this will be the first time they lean into a silver age, sci fi Superman. He also said Luther will be handled as a real threat and not a comedic, semi joke of a character the way he has typically been portrayed in film.

Both approaches seem right on and reinforce my optimism for this movie.
Good! I hope for the best. Not a huge Superman fan but I am intrigued how this will go. A lot hinges on this movie

Didn't realize there was this much discourse around this movie. I'm just happy that Big Blue is front and center again where he belongs! I'm a big Batman fan, but nothing hits quite as well as a good Superman movie for me. I just hope this does well for DC's sake and also that I want to see Nightwing on the big screen eventually.
