The mask arrived and more or less fits on the bust. Next the painting.

That does look great. I was going to order the other mask but its a little bit smaller so will have a think. Really is coming together dude :)

This mask fits over the bust easily but the chin of the mask doesn't fit all the way down to the chin of the bust. Once I start cutting up the mask a little, it should fit a little better.

I was seriously considering getting a mask for mine way back. You're re-motiviating me.

That particular mask looks great. Once it gets cut and weathered, it should be awesome.

Here is the cut up mask. I followed the example that I posted earlier. Looking pretty good, might cut up a bit more to see the endoskeleton underneath. Don't want to cover up the expensive bust too much with old Army gear and latex. Will be working on weathering the mask and then the bust.

One of the problems that I had was not knowing how the mask would hang after being cut up. Held up pretty good but might have to use something to hold some parts of the mask to the bust.

Mate he's looking awesome. Couple of questions, is there alot of room around the top part of the mask ? im still undecided which mask I want and the slop mask is an inch smaller in diameter .

Cant wait to see him painted.

Not really alot of room on top of the mask after I put it on the bust. Matter of fact, pretty good fit. I think a smaller mask might look better as it will fit tighter around the bust after you cut it. The problem is, the chin of the bust or face of the bust is longer than the mask. Before I cut the mask up, if I lined up the eyes of the mask to the bust, the chin of the mask would not fit under the bust chin. A smaller mask might even be worse with regard to the long face of the bust and short face of the bust. If the mask was about 1/2 inch longer on the face, it would be a perfect fit.

So I weathered the mask, might do some more and also cut off more of the mask. I think it's coming along. Will finish up with the mask before I move onto the bust.

Hes looking great mate, really liking how this turned out. could you take a shot slightly further back ? just want to see how hes looking from afar scaled in...

I think I may play safe and get the one you went with. Being as i need to get shipped overseas, I cant take to many risks...

Really is looking fantastic :)

That's looking cool. The weathering turned out really great. In my opinion you should try and separate the lips and maybe recut the eye-hole, so it isn't so round.

A trick to getting the chrome to look less bright and more metallic, yet keep it's shine, is to give it light washes of flat black - basically thin it a lot.

I think he looks great. I was thinking the same about opening the lips.... Will have a look when mine arrives. Not sure if it will work or weather the latex will just sit back to its original form.

Awesome project :)

Mask looks very cool, I'm very tempted to pick one up today.

I think a bit of low-lighting / oil drips would really set of the metallic paint on the bust.
