...And I thought Gruson And Sideshowpdx were rich....:lol :lol

How do I become that guy's best friend?

To call that impressive would be the understatement of the year.

Kit, I'm all for you doing this to.

If it would only fit my budget and in my townhouse! :lol

Heheh, you guys are funny, I guess you never saw the Star Wars themed movie theater that someone made in their house, it had sliding doors, and then the walls on both sides inside had glowing stars, and on the outside of it in the hall they had movie posters, it was pretty cool.

Pretty amazing theater setup.. There is the "Parade of Homes / Street of Dreams" going on right now about a mile away from my house. The street consists of 10 new custom homes all done by different builders... After seeing those theater rooms,,, I was ready to light mine on fire... ;) My arrangement was ghetto compared to some of their setups.

Nice set up!

I know what you mean pdx, I checked out some INCREDIBLE home theaters at some huge houses in Dallas and my set up looked like crap too.

Heck I thought I had an HT setup until I saw your's and pdx's setups Gru :lol

theres a local home theater store not too far from my house that has rooms set up in the store with movies playing in each room to show the experience of the hardware for sale. SOme of the things they carried were outrageously expensive ($15,000 amps for example) and I always wondered exactly who bought those freakin things.
Well now I know. :lol

thanks for the link, thats awesome

Too gaudy for my taste. :monkey4

I agree. It looks like a TRUMP home theater. I've seen much more impressive set-ups that are a lot less gaudy in design.

You mean this one:

Sorry for the small pics, but that's all they had on the website. The theater has the Don Post life-size C-3PO and R2-D2 statues up front and the Han in Carbonite hanging on the wall in the rear of the theater. The entire thing is modeled after the interior of either the Death Star or a Star Destroyer(can't remember which). It was designed especially for these people by Doug Chiang who has done a lot of work on the Star Wars films. In short, it's the coolest HT on the planet as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, that's the one, I think it was on HGTV a long time ago, and btw, I don't watch HGTV because I like it, but because my parents have watched it for years so it's kind of hard to avoid.

It was also featured in the Robb Report Home Theater & Entertainment magazine with a bunch of cool pictures and information. Like I said, I think it's the coolest HT I've ever seen and IMHO it blows away the Trump themed one that was the basis for this thread.

All of that gold trim looks so damn tacky. That wouldn't look good anywhere, IMO.
I agree with CF. All that gold and the Greek pillars and everything make it look a bit too gaudy.

Now that Star Wars set up one, thats another story. How about a (1980's)TARDIS themed room with a Tardis Console in the middle which actually controls the set up... ooooo that would be cool. To be rich and spendy!

Heh, someone always has a nicer theater or collection than you do. All we can do is enjoy what we have. I remember hearing somewhere that if you have a house/apartment, job and a car you're one of the top one percent wealthiest people in the world.

Its funny what we get impressed by sometimes. ;)

You're absolutely right. It's important to have perspective...
