Wowwww. Was not expecting this at all. Designs of troopers don't translate as well as the OT guys but still very cool imo. I'm all in.

Damn. I'm actually pretty disappointed that they're changing focus from the OT characters to the new trilogy and First Order characters.

I would've much preferred characters like Gamorrean Guard, IG-88, Yoda etc that they have concept art for. To me, this feudal Japanese style better suits those that these new First Order characters.

Am I the only one that wishes they would make a samurai Luke, Obi-Wan or Anakin? Maybe have them imagined as Buddhist Warriors?

This is what I want. Maybe do like a version of the Vader collar, small shoulder pads, forearm armor, and shin armor for the Clone Wars Jedi General look. Also Luke as a peasant too.

I strongly believe that was the Disney interference due to HT SW license with them.. those TFA figures were all over in the market and really not very well, same would be for those TLJ.

I really hope they will continue with the original concept of Amidala, Snowtroopers and IG88( and the rest of bounty hunters)...

A lot of potential releases coming I see! Here's my opinion on those reveals :

Kylo Ren : Looks really cool. The original helmet design already looked rather samurai'ish so it's not a surprise that is is mostly unchanged. The small spikes/studs on top are a nice touch. Hard to translate his specific saber design into a katana so a flamberge is a good choice. The plastic cloak looks pretty cool, I'm liking his design more than Maul.

Phasma : I already made a custom Phasma with a Stormtrooper body and mine has a cloth cape, but this one still looks pretty damn good and the plastic cape looks different but nice too, so I can see myself getting this one definitely.

Various TFA Troopers : As was said by fellow collectors, the "duck" helmet meshes with feudal japan armor a bit less subtly than the classic trilogy designs, but it's good to see some variation in armor designs, weapon types, etc..


I also hope the previous concept arts shared are not going to be buried, but I'm hopeful because so far almost every concept that has been shown ended up being produced, even if it came much later (shadow trooper, spearman, Maul...). I'm mostly hoping for IG-88 so he can join my Dengar and Zuckuss customs, but they had also shown a snowtrooper and that'd look great next to my AT-AT Driver).

So we’re expecting at least 5 new figures will be released in next year, spearman, Kylo, Phasma and other 3 duck troopers...damn 2018 gonna hit my wallet hard along with other 1/6 figures.

I'm really not liking the mask on the FO Troopers. The Phasma with the darker silver paint app looks better though. Just something about the proportions of the mask seems weird.

I think the issue stems from the fact they look practically neckless. Classic trilogy helmets didn't look go down quite as much so the neck remained visible and there was a gorget. But here it's a faceplate down to the chest, and that makes it look squat.

I think so too. If they release 4 out of 5 of these in 2018 and they sell well, they may go back to the OT/PT in 2019.
