Nice shots! Really excellent posing on all of them as well.

Seeing the one with two swords makes me wish I ordered two. I decided I was just going to get one of each variant (and 2 Imperial Guards because....you know), but seeing that photo makes me wonder about that. I don't think/know if any of the upcoming trooper variants come with a sword. Anyone else have any idea?

Cheers, thanks for watching :)

Nice review, the sideways movement of the feet just requires a rotation of the ankle ball joint. :)

Here's some shots showing the ankles with that range of movement.

Okay. I bought Vader and it just failed to wow me; it was good but lacked the "it" factor for me personally so I sold it off quick.

These stormtroopers are a different story. I've opened two of my three and I'm pretty impressed. Going to check these out for a couple of weeks but I think they might be keepers.

They would be incorrect, yes. A quick Google on samurai swords and Iaido would indicate that they're worn edge-up.

Interesting! And confirmed too lol!! I just watched this vid showing a master swordsman vs a robot! His sheath is certainly curving down with the blade up! It's actually really interesting seeing how he holds the blade!

But hey, maybe the Stormies have it curved the other way cos they're stupid and cant hit anything lol!! :)

I understand now why you have your Stormies in such wide stance poses. Moving that ankle joint to allow that ankle rocker motion means you need to have the legs that far apart to have them flat on the ground still!

And I know because I just snapped the ankle joint on one of mine trying to move it flat! Damn it wasnt even that much force!!!

Anyone know how to glue that and still have some decent strength in the ankle, or do I need to find a replacement joint somehow? Or should I just glue that whole joint fixed so that it essentially is a statue on that leg?

Sigh. So what options do I have to find a replacement ankle joint for the Stormtrooper? Are there places that sell spare parts, or does Bandai somehow do kits of other figures or something? Any advice would be appreciated. I dont think glueing the piece that broke off will be strong enough in the end, so a replacement joint is what I need I think.

Ouch, that sucks man. If that was me, I'd be just gluing it and putting it on display as is, not sure how you'd go getting spare parts for him.

You could try fixing that with epoxy cement and a metal rod to pierce through and hold the two pieces together.

The hardest part would be piercing the plastic without cracking or shattering it. Less than ideal but not impossible would be to pierce the broken end with a sharp pin.

You could even try fudging it by wrapping the pin in electrical tape to form the shaft instead of trying to connect the broken pieces.

Better would be to buy a jeweller's drill bit (tiny diameters available) and use it in a Dremel to bore out both pieces and epoxy in a metal core to hold it together.

You'd need a small vise for this operation as well, and a steady hand.

Yeah, I ended up just buying a set of replacement joints from HLJ! Obitsu Black Ball Joint set that includes 2x10mm joints, 6x8mm joints, and 8x6mm joints, all for under AUD$10 shipped! Can't argue with that :)
