I painted a bootleg in Shock Trooper colours.
It looks nice on the shelf :)
I don't want to give them any cheap repaint ideas though :D
I think I already saw a concept art Shadow Trooper repaint online.

Even if I liked the Marvel ones, these are too expensive for me to get them all.

That shock trooper is awesome, makes me imagine a movie realisation clone.... I just love seeing customs of this line

To me maul just looks like maul with a few samurai bits thrown on top

Looking forward to see better photos of Darth Maul, really excited to add another Sith in the lineup hoping to see the Emperor soon. The Marvel line isn't for everyone myself included but maybe there will be a figure in this line than can blend in with Star Wars that would be interesting.

@Eterniandreams - Good job with the repaint mate.

Finally got the sdcc Sandtrooper with the help from a friend, now I have my troopers an officer.:D

Nice customs guys, especially the Shocktrooper repaint! Can't wait for them to release a snowtrooper and scout trooper in this collection, could look amazing.

Here's a few pictures of my Death Trooper custom. Of course I'm sure most of you are familiar with its design, but here's a reminder.

And here's what I got in the end (I just need to finish working on his rifle, modified too). I modified the helmet to have a visor instead of two eye holes and covered it with a translucent green plastic sheet. The green tint on the visor is hard to notice but it's also hard to notice on the original design unless it's lit up, so that was on purpose. I really like the green visor personnally... Also modified the faceplate to have the horizontal stripes seen on the design instead of the usual stormtrooper helmet face design. Then I painted the two green dots under the breathing filters. I added some kunai to the right wristguard to replace the cylinders on the original design, and instead of hi-tech grenades on the belt I added some old-fashioned bombs. I'll probably attach the rifle to the back when it's finished, under the two scabbards. I didn't add the shoulder pouches because it seemed cluttered enough already (as is the Death Trooper specialist design) and I still wanted it to look sleek and dangerous instead of cumbersome.

Hope you'll enjoy it, despite the bad quality pictures! :)

Maul looks great, Captain America not so much. The superhero samurai ones they've done so far just haven't worked for me. The only superhero I'd like to see in samurai form would be Batman and a Joker based on kabuki designs.

IS that scout for real? Coz I like that scout!

What do you mean "for real"?
Is it Bandai? No
Is it CGI? No

It is kit bash custom of bootleg stormie and Boba based on design found on net.

Should be finished next week, then I will post better pictures.

Thank Roberto Robert for beautiful design and Bandai for this line.
This is a kit-bashed model from bootleg Stormie (most of the body) and Boba Fett (shoulder armor, belt pouches, sword, gun and all below the knee). Some parts are scratch build (backpack, longer rifle and jingasa (helmet).
Shoulder pads and belt pouches are just repainted, weapon holsters on shanks I removed and filled the holes. Lower arm armor is painted gloss black as original scout has black shiny gloves and white elbow shields. Most of the mid body armor is removed in line with lighter scout armor. I used putty and sanded the torso (nipples and ribs) to get flush armor.
I "butchered" the head and the putty the hell out of the face. All helmet details are sanded and then I made the new helmet rim to make jingasa. Some experimenting and cutting sessions resulted in using ordinary thick paper. The nose part is made out of one helmet strip. I know it is not totally samurai look, but if Royal guard helmet is ok, then this is also. I had an idea to make the scout nose shape by sculpting it with samurai mustaches (think Yosemity Sam mustache).
Backpack is totally scratch build. Again not exactly samurai but neither is sandtrooper backpack...
Mud on the shoes is an homage to another line of scout trooper action figure. It is made out of Sodium bicarbonate mixed with paint.
Sniper gun is way out of samurai world, but I like it. Long barrel, ramrod, large iron sight. Just love it altough it is anachronistic.
In line with Roberto Robert design armor is heavily used and chipped.

I am very happy with this custom, but I really hope that Bandai issues official scout trooper.

Next custom, in I hope few days, is snowtrooper.

Thanks for posting it. It looks a smidge better, with the grimacing face looking a bit more like a oni mask, but it's hard to tell, we'll need official HD pictures of the face sculpt to be certain. The overall design is more toy'ish than usual in this line too, probably because this is the first character that's not wearing heavy armor.. The large beads necklace, the robes look nice, I'm not convinced by the shoulderpads and the leg guards, I'd have prefered a more ninja approach to Maul who is, after all, supposed to be a stealthy assassin.

This line has been amazing so far so I'm sure the official pictures will remove some worries, but this is the first time I'm not immediately throwing my wallet against my monitor when I see a new one.

I think he is supposed to be oni...
Which is fine cuz I want my gamorrean guards to be pig dudes like the illustration instead of just people in masks...star wars is a fantasy after all, and I don't want a morbidly obese dude to be a movie realization Jabba....

LOL. The thought of a ridiculously fat fuedal lord as Jabba cracked me up. Not going to lie, that might be awesome.

As promised, snow trooper.
Chest plate design taken from Bandai prototype. I remodeled chest plate to look like original snowtrooper.
I like samurai side of this line more than star wars side, so I decided not to do the backpack but to do traditional japanese straw coat. As it is bulky, it kinda looks like a backpack :)
The shoes and gloves are "bubbled" up with putty. I simply did not want to do straw shoes. That would be too much. Also lower arm armor is beefed up as in movie armor.
I tried to imitate yellowish white color of fabric and brilliant white armor.
Basicaly a simple repaint job with some putty modeling for the chest and bubbled shoes and glowes.

Open issues: 1. straw hat or helmet? 2. Color of mouth cowl: brilliant white as armor or somecother shade of white which is closer to original movie?

It would be great if Bandai made tripod blaster cannon in form of gatling gun or multiple arrow launcher (Hwacha). I would try to make one but I simply do not have the skill to do it.
