Can't justify paying more for this than the Sideshow 3PO.

Well, this IS gold electroplated & Diecast metal. I'm getting the Sideshow one, too (which I will further weather to look more realistic)... but there's no chance that out of the box it won't look cheaper and more like a toy next to this one.

Price wise, it's also significantly cheaper than when it was first released. Almost a $100 cheaper iirc.

I've had two chances to get this for about $200 shipped, but through no fault of my own, those deals didn't get completed. No biggie.

Going by photos, I would argue the opposite. I wouldn't mind having both, but I also won't mind having neither if it works out that way. $230 for the SSC is $50 more than I want to spend on that one.

Yeah, my SSC 3PO is going in my Jabba's palace (head turned to hide the slightly wonky face) - the Tama will be my main "3PO and R2" display. The color/finish on the SSC one looks more ROTJ 3PO to me anyway.

daylight.... C3PO loves daylight!

Here's the new SSC R2D2 with this great piece.

I think they match quite well.

I think they match nicely as well. R2 being dirty and Threepio being clean doesn't seem to be all that evident. The difference in cleanliness doesn't seem to jump out at me at all.
