So is it confirmed by Tamashii that the dome is made out of plastic? Most of the info in that page is not translated.

Yes! There will be a handful of C-3P0s for sale, but the quantity is very limited.

Here's a photo I took with the figure by a tape measure when people asked about the height at Toy Fair. Hope this helps.

The SS R2 comes up to 7 inches so that one does look a hair taller, more like 7 1/8.
