"Cowabunga dudes… Warner Brothers has just announced a special upcoming release in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live action movie. This August they will unleash Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Collector’s Edition Box Set featuring all four TMNT movies including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Turtles in Time, and the recent CG-animated feature TMNT. The release will be available on both DVD and Blu-ray, marking the first time the original live action films have been available in high-definition.

The full specs are still TBA, but the official TMNT website has a look at the proposed box art including some sweet discs that look like pizzas. I’ve been waiting for years to get a special edition release of the first movie (hopefully with some decent extras) so I’m all over this. However, it remains to be seen if they will be making the movies available individually as well. The only one I don’t really care to own is Part 3, but I know a lot of people will mainly be interested in the original. We’ll keep our ears to the ground for more details on this killer collection as they become available."

The bold part is not accurate...it celebrates the 25th anniversary of the year the TMNT characters were created, in 1984...the first film came out in 1990...

Anyway, I am sure excited! I hear the official date is August 2 (a SUnday...so that seems odd). This better have kick ass special features! A definite buy for me! Too bad no specs yet...

Ah now I see, and also the credits at the bottom are for the TMNT CGI film, so that's the 4th film. I already have it on DVD, but will pick up this set on Blu...too sweet to pass up.

The only thing that threw me for abit was it saying 4 original movies, and I was thinking the CGI wouldnt be considered original. Good thing I never bought it on bluray, I might have to pick this set up when it gets released.

Was wondering about the suits in the advert though, they look like the one's from the third movie, but they've had those weird spots they added for the third film removed from them.

All Walmarts now have the the original and second films on DVD with the new slipcovers from this promo, but no new features so that blows...

Been looking for this for ages, remembered seeing it once when I was a kid but had never seen it since. I love YouTube only remembered it as it had all new footage of the Turtles shot for the video
