Well ***t...
And a living legend of the sport steps down from the game... Surely one of the greats...
Well ***t...
He'll be missed. Hoped he'd pull one more Slam win (preferably Wimbledon) out of the bag for old time's sake but it wasn't to be.
Nadal and Djokovic have/will surpass him on titles/records but Federer's legacy is secure - he redefined what was possible in the sport and set a new standard that only those 2 others have met.
I'm sure we'll hear from him as a pundit/commentator at least.
Now the women's game.....Look at this scoreline
E Raducanu 5 6 3
A Friedsam 7 0 6
I can't comprehend that from either player's perspective. How does Friedsam let herself get utterly destroyed in the second set, not winning a single game? And then how does Raducanu fail to capitalize on that shift in momentum? [...]
And Anna Kournikova........what....I never thought I'd get to say this, but I would abso - frickin' - lutely love to have 1/6 figures of Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic.
And Anna Kournikova........what....
And a 1/1 Anna Kournikova........what....
Nadal ousted in the first round by Mackie McDonald!
Murray pulling through on 2R five-setter win over Kokkinakis!
Second round, no? Still, disappointing.
He's being celebrated for that but I can't see him going far in the tournament when he's had a match like that so early on.
