Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Old Arnie saying ''I've been waiting for you'' to the young T-800 confirms, as if there were any doubt, that this is T3 version 2.0.

Anyone remember the bit in T1 where Kyle Reese announces himself with words to the Terminator? Or in T2 when Arnie says ''hello'' to the T-1000 before they engage in battle? Yeah me neither.

:lol

I have to respectfully disagree with the T3 2.0
This looks way better, although the flipping bus has a TOTAL t3 feel...

This is no good, holy ****.

Looks like this movie takes a giant dump on the first two Cameron films.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

My god, will you just stop?!
We won´t EVER gonna get a movie as good as T1, or 2. It´s over.
Stay realistic.
But for ****´s sake just take it as it is.
It´s a new start, they wanna make money, of course, yeah...but we get a new time paradox.
Why not?

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Yeah, thinking back over the last few years we've seen a few moderately successful, genuinely innovative sci-fi/suspense/horrorish kinds of films like Looper, Snowpiercer, District 9, Under the Skin. But a ******, half-assed Terminator movie that appeals to some vague concept of nostalgia and branding will make more than 10 of those kinds of movies will combined. So. . .

True, T1/T2 are the gifts that keep on giving more ways than necessary. :lol

lol no thanks

They can't be bargained with, they can't be reasoned with, they don't feel pity, remorse or fear, and they absolutely will not stop until this movie is dead.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I'm a bit confused by the trailer, but I hope that all questions about how the timeline gets all messed up like that will be fully explained during the movie. All of the superhuman and supernatural stunts and physics are just a part of today's moviemaking. Just as all of the transformeresque robots are. The skydiving bit doesn't seem that great to me, but he could be diving into water or whatever. Who knows?

I'm not psyched on the actor they picked for Reese. Emilia seems to have nailed Hamilton's inflections. I will go see this as I am definitely curious. I am not expecting Terminator 1 or 2 levels of greatness.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Reese is going to show up to protect Sarah, the T1000 also shows up and instead of Reese protecting her she shocks him by kicking ass against the T1000 and then telling HIM "come with me if you want to live." Sigh.

Called it back in October. :lol

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

It looks cheap (Endoskeleton CGI looks worse than Sarah Connor Chronicles tv show), sounds cheap (is that The Dark Knight truck flip sound effect for the bus??). They're literally going back and wiping their ass with the '84 T-800 and Robert Patrick T-1000. :lol

The future **** looked interesting with the freeze chambers and time displacement machine, but man oh man, they lost me when they went to the "present day" or whatever. It's horrible, horrible! I loled hard when Arnold (and it's Arnold, not the Terminator), jumped out of the plane/helicopter into the other one with some of the worst looking green screen and CGI effects I've ever seen. Man oh man. I shoulda made a reaction vid to this like everyone did with Star Wars because I was definitely slack jawed. Holy ****, I'm dying. :lol:lol:lol

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Skydiving Pops-800 looks rather cringeworthy. Action looks massively escalated and OTT - didn't I read somewhere a quote from Arnie that they weren't gonna do that? Oh well. :lol

It looks like huge fun though, they'll get my money. I just know I won't be leaving the cinema thinking I saw a real Terminator movie.
