Dalton is Doctor Doom of my dreams...

Too bad FOX holds the license hostage.

Good call there. He's got a somewhat sinister quality to him. He was very well cast in Rocketeer and Hot Fuzz.

He would've made a good classic Tony Stark in his prime as well.

Yeah, 15-20 years ago or so when I used to think of what would be good Marvel casting ideas, that was a no-brainer to me. Alex Ross drew Stark to look like Dalton.

Forever's a long time But yeah, RDJ certainly put his stamp on Stark. But before that, if you just go on the comics, peak age Dalton would be a much more accurate choice.

I like RDJ, but that's not the Iron Man I grew up reading about / watching - & I'm assuming many would say the same.

Even Hasbro did a 6" Stark that resembled Dalton a few years back:

I want T:Genisys to feature a scene where the T-1000 is impersonating someone on the phone and while he's trying to determine Sarah's location a fly is buzzing around him. As he speaks the fly buzzes slightly off screen and he quickly extends his arm and you here a "pssh!" When he hangs up the phone the camera slowly pans the length of his outstretched arm to see the dead fly...CRUSHED IN CHOPSTICKS.
