great review as usual michael. and i totally agree about the backpack issue on the t600. i brought it up as well in my own little review (yes, this is a shameless plug! :D).

but seriously, the salvation range does seem to be quite consistent in terms of overall quality and artistry of the output. would u say this is the best overall range, or at least close to the top? besides this, plus iron man and planet of the apes, not sure what other series in 09 has maintained a high standard across the board...

(maybe also enterbay's "storm warriors" series but that's not out yet).

Yea, you can't really count things that aren't out yet. As much as I love the Iron Man work they've done, I think they've done a better job so far with the overall quality of the Salvation line. With the Marcus and weathered skin T-600 still coming, it looks to be the line of the year for me, at least at the high end.

my only complaint with the salvation line is ht went crazy with depth but didn't give us breadth. i would've preferred to see more characters from the film like kyle reese rather than the umpteenth version of the t600. though that figure probably will fly off the shelves compared to less visually "interesting" characters...

Really? John Connor, Marcus Wright, T-600, T-700 and the dio all this summer. Yep, we're getting another T-600, but with the skin and clothes he'll be very different on the shelf, and another Connor. Still, we're already worlds beyond the three characters we've gotten in total for the Batman license, and with the poll at their site it's clear HT is looking for what to do next, character wise, with this license.

HAHaHaha!! are people not getting this?..its just an instruction for how to secure the velcro..its not like a separate thing that came with the figure, you apply.

Oh. :duh

Yea, MF is just making a remark about the thin velcro used to hold most of the flaps shut on John. I know of only one spot on him where it's used to actually hold something in place, and that's if you wrap the bag with knife around one of his arms.

I can see where the confusion would come from though, because Billy really did have tape!

And that's why me confused. Ahem, thanks for clearing that up guys. :monkey3

See the movie first, Kyle (was cooler than John IMO) and Blair the pilot was hot and cool. We only needed like 2 600s at best.

This is like the 50th time you've mentioned that magic tape...you really hate that stuff huh? Admittedly it is a bit crappy, but for display purposes it does its job. I think you're struggling with it because you handle the figures a lot for your photo work right? I can imagine seeing a jacket or pocket pop open again and again would be annoying :sick

It's been a series of figures for me. The first Joker's vest used it and it didn't work out long term, HT even acknowledged fan dissappointment by using snaps on the DX figure, I find the closures on Dutch's vest to be sort of "fragile", if you can get it to stick shut, you almost have to avoid even shaking the furniture housing the figure. I'm not again velcro, but whatever kind HT's using is just ineffective to me and when I see Sideshow using better velcro and also using small magnets, it's a bit dissappointing for a figure of HT's level and price to be coming with cheap stuff.

I'd strongly consider voting Connor figure of the year if it weren't for the method of attaching the ammo pouches and the velcro enclosures, if those were handled better I'd consider this a nearly flawless figure.

True that MF. But i think for the overall level of quality Hot Toys are bringing to the table, a little trade off with things like the velcro/magic tape is an acceptable trade off. I'm more concerned with the poor quality control....My T600 has been boxed the last week and a half, i just took it out to inspect it. I couldn't for the life of me understand why his right arm didn't bend at the elbow...I assumed it was built that way to hold the gun. That is until i read Michael's review CLEARLY showing a bending gun arm. Anyway to cut a long story short i've discovered it does bend but in the opposite direction...He has TWO FRIGGIN LEFT ARMS!! :monkey4:monkey2:lol

All of those t-600s aren't necessary IMO.
HT could have easily included all those masks with an all inclusive exclusive version. :monkey5

That way I could get my damn Marcus endo. :banghead

Great lowdown Mike, and I have to say, though there are a few variations on the T-600 Endo's I don't see how people think this would or has impacted on any other figs from the movie. I was just gonna get the regular T-600 (my review should be up soon), but I was so blown away by how cool the engineering was on him that I now have to get a rubber-mask version becauce the boots and gloves give it such a different look.
And the Marcus Endo would make a great addition to the line, but it's never fully seen in the movie.
