But yea, give us a 1/6th figure Sideshow.

If he was in Star Whores, you would make one.

You can't weigh Terminator against Star Wars, Star Wars has mass collecting appeal where the most remote character or thing will sell well, whereas Terminators are more a cult film which have a niche following and even within that following, only the most die hard of die hards will want a 1/6 figure of Future War John Connor for the all of 1 minute of film time he had, which is why he's a convention exclusive for the bust, there's an expectation he's not popular enough to make easily available to general buyers (like Yavin Luke). The majority which will buy up figures sold in the thousands will want the Terminators themselves, variations of Sarah, and young John.

Re: Official Terminator thread.

Whatever.

You have SW fans screaming for a pointless to the movie cantina character that was on the screen for a split second, so why not a character of someone that helps saves humanity?

And I'm sure this bust took longer to fully sculpt than it would take to make a 1/6th figure. And they would sell more figures.

Re: Official Terminator thread.

Maybe HT will have the balls to make a JC to go with their BD Endo and Future Kyle... both of which are FUTURE BATTLE figs. They seem to have their finger on the pulse more than SSC when it comes to stuff like this...

btw, the Endo had that Minigun onscreen for about 1 second in T2 and the battle scene with armed Endos was about 20 seconds...

Anyway, here's to hoping...

It's the numbers, just like you're pointing out. Countless Star Wars fans would shout for the most random of characters, but I question how many collectors outside of the 20-30 die hard Terminator fans on this board, would really be so into the film as to want to own a representation of a character that appeared for such a short time.

Re: Official Terminator thread.

SS will make somebody like the Ice Cream Maker Guy from Star Whores and all of the p-u-s-s-y-whipped fanboys will buy him.

:lol SW fanboy you are :lol Terminator fanbase is larger than you think.

So feed this supposed sales numbers from Star Wars into other lines to complete them. Toy Biz did this all the time in their Marvel Legends line.

I am a Star Wars fan boy, but I'm also a fan of things that aren't properties you'd expect much along the lines of collectibles for. I never thought something like the JAWS Bruce maquette would be made but it happened. I never would have figured that Terminator would become popular enough again that affordable collectibles would be made for it, but here we have them, and Aliens and many other properties that I'm glad to see made, and I really want more out of the T2 line. My point was, when I see the pictures of people's Star Wars collections and some of the products made for the property, you can tell quite clearly, there is a large enough mass of people in the world to want every little thing to do with the saga and it's a safe bet most things will sell well, and Terminator may have a strong and large scale following, but it is not to the point Star Wars is at, and producing a figure like Future War John Connor comes with potential risks, and those risks may be something Sideshow doesn't want to take. John's outfit and all doesn't seem like anything overly elaborate, so there may not be enough there to drive mass appeal, but at least with the HT Reese, it was 1) a very elaborate costume with a lot of appeal for that quality, and 2) opened the door for customizers to create, as we've seen, present time Kyle figures. A 1/6 Future War John would look cool, but time will tell if anyone feels it'd be popular enough to invest resources into producing.

Re: Official Terminator thread.

John Connor would consist of a headsculpt and they can ape the outfit and accessories from Dragon or BBI like they did with T1000.

And yea, after seeing the screwed the pooch Yavin Luke, Star Wars Fanboys will buy any turd as long as SW logo is on it.

Re: Official Terminator thread.

It's doubtful Hot Toys will do a John Conner figure as their license is for the
first Film only. Sideshow currently has the license for T2.

Re: Official Terminator thread.

The BD Endo with weaponry is a T1 AND T2 character... borderline though... but the weapons and skull base make it T2.

We are talking about Future John from the first film. Though I would pick up a Furlong one from the second.

Re: Official Terminator thread.

Why do some of you guys have to act so arrogant that for a Star Wars fan to like something and be content although you find great flaw in it, they have to be some blind lap dog, when they could easily call you guys a bunch of Cameron-ball lickers or Hot Toys Whores or something equally degrading. People have different tastes, lay off the almighty pedistal and just enjoy collectibles instead of ranking on each other for what you like. The best feature of the Aliens/Predater/Terminator threads is that there is friendship and brotherhood and cooperation, not a bunch of people dumping on each other, that's what it should be about, enjoy the things you like, let others enjoy what they like, voice your opinions of products (good and bad), but don't talk down to people with opposing views.

Re: Official Terminator thread.

The actor who played Future JC is credited in T2 so it would fall under the T2 license. The Endo was in both and since it is a trademarked design and doesn't need actor likeness approval they can get around it.

I don't know, why don't you ask jlcsmu that question? :D

Re: Official Terminator thread.

Because it is a fact anything with SW on it sells. From scaled $3000 Falcons to .99 toilet paper.

And people cancelled orders of figures and things from other lines, so they could get their SW figures.

SS getting SW was good and bad.

Your avatar version of him looks like some kinda tribal mask, it's freaky as hell.

We never saw John in T1 did we?

No, but Kyle talked about him in detail in T1, even the battles and his Legacy as you know (Police Station)... so John Connor was a character in name only...

and don't even mention JC in T3, that was just ugly...
