Speaking just for me...all due respect to Bowen's offerings, he just isn't for me.

No doubt that there's excellent talent at Bowen putting out well designed statues but once I got a taste of SS PF's and some of their Comi's, I simply could never get myself to go Bowen.

Even if finances were good I still wouldn't go Bowen. I rather have patience (is it easy...nope) and wait for SS to release a PF or Comi that I want.

I haven't seen one single Bowen piece which made my jaw drop like the Thor PF, Cap PF, Hulk PF, Doom PF and Wolverine Comi did...and that's not all of them.

No disrespect meant to the owners of some of those fine Bowen pieces, I like the look of his Punisher, DD, Thor, Storm and Hulk statues but not enough to warrant ownership.

The second I saw the Thor PF, I immediately thought MUST OWN no matter if I have to sell an eyeball and 1/3 of my liver.

I agree. I used to collect only Bowens, but once you go Sideshow it's hard to backtrack. After you unpack and display something as awesome as the Thor PF, no Bowen can really satisfy your "statue hunger". Bowen has been putting out awesome stuff recently though, and I have to admit I'm getting more and more tempted.

appliances for the home
landscaping, removed 8 100 foot trees around the house, $1,800 (just for starters)
pots and pans, holy crap have they become expensive!
new alternator and tires for the truck
diapers and wipes by the ton
3 million dollar heating bill
bluray movies
surround sound system
receivers
flat screen tv's (my bedroom and son)
laptop (my HP died)
oh, and food sometimes...something about eating....
My $13,000 a year tax bill....Weeeeee
Mortgage
This is just a small percentage of life...

Yup, maybe it's not so hard to have patience afterall.

Well, I don't do dios, archive sets, LSB, or 1:1, so for me the lack of core PF/Comiquettes is a big deal. That said, NOTHING compares to a Sideshow PF or most of their quality comiquettes; I don't think many people will dispute this. However, Bowen and Sideshow offer something different from one another and I feel they compliment each other well.

Sideshow PFs are higher quality and more lifelike and their comiquettes seem to have superior paint applications. Bowen statues are smaller and more 'comic' like and Bowen offers a larger selection. I started collecting statues through Sideshow, but have branched off to collect both. And, I gotta say, some of the new Bowen stuff is really, really nice and a few of the older Bowen pieces are the best on the market.

I just want to get away from smaller statues and stick to the bigger stuff.

Look at it this way... your house will always be filled with warmth. That way you won't freeze to death. In the long run, I think that is more important.

I would freeze myself for a Doom too... but living down in Aus, I'd most likely melt instead of freeze . Would still be worth it, though.

They have a blizzard twice a day every day.

UPS uses Taun Tauns to deliver their packages and once a day Quad is seen slicing open Taun Taun stomachs to keep his statues warm.

Sideshow has completely lost touch with its Marvel fanbase. Granted, they've produced a steady flow of decent to pretty good 2nd and 3rd tier characters, but nothing from any big names.

I've even began to question my 'inside' sources about supposed big name releases in the near future. Seriously guys, when the ^^^^ did the near future turn into almost a year. That's my reason for calling 'shennanigans'... you just aren't giving the fans what we want. That and questionable intel, at best.

Prove me wrong, Sideshow... because I'm calling your 'big announcement' bluff. Bowen has a stacked deck, so you'd better have at least a couple aces up your overly conservative, character rehashing sleeve. Game on, ^^^^^es!!!
