Well, I've just joined the ranks of The Dead collectors now.

( :lol What am I thinking going into another full line, God this is gonna be expensive isn't it? :lol )

I had a Peril Unlimited Ash to start. And a original Spokesman and two nude containment guys. Now I am really going headfirst into the line.

Had a question as a The Dead newbie, if no one minds

Given how rare Patient Zero is, has anyone ever done a recast of the head itself? ( Is it even ok to ask this question here like this?) I'd like to get a PZ simulation into my collection because the original looks like it's going to be clearly impossible to find.

Thanks in advance,

Gekko

I was talking with a guy a couple of years ago who knew another guy who was making PZ copies, I contacted him and after finally getting the details and price, I just happen to get a chance to actually get a real one. So, I let the whole idea of a "bootleg" drop. I’m sorry I can't remember either fellow names, I'm sure if you hunt around on the boards you could run across the guy or he'll run across you.

To be honest he’s really not that impressive of a figure, if it wasn’t for the “Collecting the Set” aspect I wouldn’t have bought it, its cost was expensive indeed.

There was an eBay seller making "PX" figures... basically a recast (well done though) and bashing together the rest to make a fairly decent copy. He was shut down though and I haven't seen any recasts labeled as such since then... but pretty sure at least one or two eBay auctions since then have been recasts passed off as original.

Yah, with only 300 made world wide I always wonder about the ones I see pop up on ebay every now and then.

PX paint apps wise was done at times better than the standard PZ. Quite a few people got one, I had a PZ so I never went for it but after the "Stealth" Patient Zero joke I went back and emailed to see if I could get one to customize a SPZ but the seller never responded.

TBH, there's never been a better time than right now to score an original PZ. I paid about $300 for mine a while ago, I've seen him go for as high as $600 but right now with the recession, people are letting him go for $200-$250.

I did see one go in the high 200's on ebay a couple of weeks ago. Thought for about one second that that would be a fair price for a 1/6 figure, then I slapped myself! :lol

Well, prepare for a reslap. :lol Once the recession's over, the price will shoot back up. And if you think that's $$$, there's a Son of Frankenstein (?) SSE figure that's worth at least 4 digits...

Best place to find PZ is trolling around the commerce section. If you can't find one there, don't hesitate to make offers to the sellers on ebaY. You'd be surprised what they'll let it go for.
