Is he holding his Spidey-Nutrag? :lol

:lol at the hyperbolic post. ToyBiz made ***. If you actually owned both (I do), you'd see there's a night and day comparison in quality. The pic you posted of the Hasbro toy is in a static, stupid pose. The reality is that figure is easily capable of all the poses of the ToyBiz one you posted and more. That's also only the movie figure from the sucktastic ASM. Hasbro has already released dozens of Spider-Man toys from both the comics AND the movies (from as far back as Spider-Man 3) that all look better than the craptastic ToyBiz ones.
Nah.. come on dude. :lol

I think Wez could've posted better pic examples of the GOOD Toy Biz era 6" Spidey figures (the S1 figures were cool, but were still works in progress as far as actual super articulation & sculpt marrying well), but I absolutely agree with him in principle - & most others here I bet would as well.

Deckard showed one of them; the Toy Biz 'McFarlane' style one (which Hasbro re-released with a darker colour scheme a few years ago), & the other is the S2 Super Poseable Spider-Man figure from 2004 - it nudging out the McF, with more articulation on top again. I'd also argue that the 'Web Trap' Spider-Man figure from the same series of S2 movie figures was a very comfortable third contender - the only difference with it being, one less torso joint & not every finger moved like the 'super poseable' version. An excellent figure in any case.

Another proud feather in their cap too, is the Toy Biz S2 18" 'super poseable' figure - also from 2004. It's probably THE BEST lower end 1/4 scale action ever produced.

The only real downfall Toy Biz had in the golden period of their Marvel figure run (as I expect you'd be aware), was the uber articulation & flimsy joints warping some of the figures - which in turn, led to warped figures straight out of the packaging.

When Hasbro took over the movie Spidey figures in 2006, the line did go downhill - fast, as did their first run of Marvel Legends for that matter. Soft sculpts, less articulation, & horrid paint jobs. I was absolutely spewing, that Toy Biz weren't going to make the black suit figure - it would've been an excellent version to own, based on their great success with the S2 line. Hasbro took the sculpts - & articulation, back several steps.

Of course - all that said, Hasbro are making some excellent Marvel figures these days, but it took them a while to catch up.
