I never liked riddler I always thought he was silly. Kinda like mysterio. Just runs around making riddles. Idk. I?ll see how his performance is

Riddler is just a smart guy in a green suit, so yeah... not very exciting or cool looking in cartoons.

But in film, if he was like Hans Gruber, then he'd be cool.

I wasn't trying to make an exact parallel... just pointing out that a seemingly boring "smart guy in a suit" can be exciting if he's casted correctly.

At least Riddler is one of the more probable villains.

Ivy and Freeze are ridiculous (even though Freeze is one of my favorites)... Two-Face done right (unlike Nolan) is a wicked cool idea.

Ventriloquist is silly. Mud-man or whatever is total comic book contrivance.

I like the classic Riddler outfit with the purple mask, but that only works in cartoons. It's kind of amazing that they used it in Barman Forever.

A guy in a green suit or jacket is very grounded. Hopefully he wears a hat, question mark pin on a purple tie, and he uses his iconic question mark cane.

See, I think that's over-the-top though. He should be more subtle, more clever.

Question mark tie pin is cool. Not the full cane though. And no mask. If he has a cane at all, he should have a limp then, as an excuse. Limping Riddler could give him a creepy vibe as well which might be nice.

I never really liked that Joker and Riddler had basically the same colors.

Ah. I thought you were still playing the Captain Literal game.

I always think of Gotham City as having the best villains is all of comic books... but then I started thinking about them translating into live-action and many of them have real problems.

Who do we have:

Joker
Penguin
Riddler
Catwoman
Mr. Freeze
Two-Face
Poison Ivy
Bane
The Bat :)lol)
Scarecrow
Clayface
Firefly
Killer Croc
Ventriloquist :)lol)
Mad Hatter
Egghead
King Tut

...OK, you see where this is going... I mean, a lot of those are just ridiculous for a more realistic live-action movie. I can see Nolan's dilemma.

How about purple reading glasses as a nod to the mask?

I was serious. Just an idea. He wouldn't need to wear them all the time. As far as the villains, the Court of Owls would translate well in live action. They're a crime group and a secret society. They have cool looking assassins too.

Name sucks, but whatever.

Riddler can wear his purple glasses while reading a book and devising his plan... maybe two shots. Its all you need.

He'd have to be able to lose himself in a crowd, so his green suit would have to be dark enough to be realistic and allow him some sense of autonomy. I imagine him wanting to watch the results of his 'terrorist' activities against Gotham.

He can wear lots of different suits and styles. A beautiful dark green tweed three piece suit, gold pocket watch in his vest, brown leather gloves, brown shoes, and gold ? mark pin on the tie.

Another look, green jacket, green vest, black shirt, silver or purple tie with ? mark pin, black gloves, black shoes, grey pants. Purple glasses only when he wears purple tie.

I would also use different shades of green to reflect the character's mood or tone of the scenes, with the light and dark shades of green.

We really don't. It's clear WB has washed its hands of that movie.

Yea anybody hoping or praying that they?ll continue that crap Snyder verse has lost there minds. Now with the success joker they?ll bury that mistake even further

The MCU did a good job of doing things like that for wackier comic characters like Arnim Zola, a headless scientist whose face displays on a screen on his chest. Both TFA and TWS introduce the character by showing only his face on a screen.

Nice little nods to the source material without letting things get too ridiculous.

I love how they did Zola in TWS -- still an almost perfect comic book to film translation.

Yep. I like it. They should let you handle the Riddler parts of the movie. At least costumes.

Totally agree. Original suit *and* shield no less.

So you've got to feel pretty good about the quality of the Joker. Yet another reason for him to be your favorite fictional character of all time I take it?

Romero
Nicholson
Hamill
Ledger
Phoenix

And then of course his classic comic stories.

What a legacy across all mediums.

Favorite villain, not sure about overall character. It varies from time to time. I can't complain about the joker. It kind of amazes me how many times they can reinvent Joker with different actors and in different mediums. One of my new favorite comic villains is the Dark Knight Metal Joker. Talk about an instantly iconic character. Maybe the best Batman villain since the real joker. So in short, yes I'm happy. Also when it comes to the amount of merchandise available. I'm still hoping HT makes this Joker.
