i know Dave tried it and ended up ripping the head, but if anyone successfully places the Takara Bats head on the HT body, PLEASE post pics. i'm thinking that would really be the bat's meow!

how do you do that? the heads are designed completely different, tak has a cut neck joint so the cowl and neck piece are separate, ht has a buried neck joint so the entire cowl and head is one piece

besides, the tak body is considerably slimmer so the head is prolly disproportinate to the body, i.e. too small for HT body

also who would want a cut neck joint head on an ht body makes no sense, that's why i went with ht in the first place... anyway look what happened to poor dave...

I say get one or the other or both and just be happy with them IMO.

true, but people switch heads/bods ALL the time, w/ little to no modification, and sometime w/ extensive modifications needed. there are entire boards dedicated to doing stuff like this. they do it to achieve the look they want. it's probably possible since Dave was gona try, and i'd say he's probably done a head swap or 2.

could be, but from the pics i've seen of both, it doesn't look like it'd be THAT disproportinate. besides, most people i've heard critique the HT Bats, it's the head they aren't very happy w/. but everyone i've seen has praised the TAK head. someone WILL attempt it, and i bet they'll succeed eventually. maybe not w/ the stock heads, but w/ modification, recasts, ect.

This may all be true, I am just putting some warning flags out there because of Dave's experience... guess we'll wait to hear from DD or the OSW kitbasher guys to see how things turn out. I know Dave isn't happy with his HT head, just the opposite for me, I totally dig the HT cowl design and don't care for the cut joint Tak head...

For me it would be Tak's Bruce Wayne head on the Hot Toys body.

I read the review of that 15 yr old kid too, he did a nice job, thanks for the link. The Tak masked sculpt and face looks great (better than HT) but I think the Tak body is way too slim (not screen accurate) and the belt hangs/droops on it, Bale's body was beefier, much more like the HT body in the film. The Tak Bale head sculpt to me looks boyish... he looks more like a 23 yr old Willem Dafoe than Bale but that's just me, it's a subjective thing. Accessories look good too and you do get A LOT more with the Tak but you also pay more. I think the kid makes a great point re: the poseability issue b/c the HT BB is tough to pose but joints loosen over time and use.

My big thing was always the body, outfit and especially the head and neck and how they work, I just can't cut it with that Tak cut neck...

But both figs are great, it all comes down to the individual collector, maybe there is an ideal Kitbashed BB out there, we'll see...

I'll be interested to read Crawford's review...

Sucks to tear the head of a expensive figure. But I can see swapping the parts from these 2 awesome figures. Takara may have a better likeness, but HT has a better cape and boots and belt are nice.

My Takara Catwoman shipped from BBTS as well. Been thinking of going ahead and getting a Takara Bats for the better articulation maybe, unless I can find someone to trade straight up for my Hot Toys one.
