my wife was telling me not to worrie.
when I work 12hr shifts 6pm to 6am I will get all the sleep I need.
I am a very heavy sleeper so I am not going to have a problem and on my days off I will help her with the baby.

yeah, that was our original plan too...but then we were presented with an extremely colicky baby (but only 1 in 5 end up like that, so chances are everything will be great with you guys 
). Everyone deals with a screaming baby differently, but after a month of no sleep, I couldn't deal anymore and Travis had to pitch in a lot more than I had originally intended for the sake of my sanity! Let's just say I understand how child abuse occurs (but as long as you can take a step back and understand and see how it happens, you can prevent it from happening). Those first 3 months Dax was home were the hardest in my entire life... it was like I was living in a war zone, no joke. Looking back, I think I had some post traumatic stress going on too (from the circumstances of his birth and prematurity), which didn't help

I just heard that Ray and his wife are the proud new parents of a beautiful bouncing baby girl.
All went fairly smooth, I will be going to visit them tomorrow (cant tonight, got a class)
What a beautiful name. You are truly blessed and the best is yet to come.
