Well its definitely not the universe where you want a "lived in" looking hotel.

Maybe if they styled it on Military Quarters -- like the Moff Tarkin room -- or modeled it after some of the more elegant PT worlds: Naboo Queen's suite or Coroscant Hotel.

Yep Coruscant, Naboo, or Cloud City would be easy templates for SW's high society but nope they gave us this utterly generic and uninspired version of Star Trek with the singer from Fifth Element.

In all seriousness, they have the technology to make Jabba's place a reality with a full animatronic Jabba on his throne.

That could be interesting, although having a slave woman in a bikini might be "offensive". You can't call her a slave either, so instead of slave Leia they would call her Jabba's lady friend.

Jabba's filthy palace is not a place I'd care to stay the night in.

Disney's Jabba would look cheap and barely work. Likely based on ANH SE version too. And the actor playing Bib would look more like TPM Bib.

I think the spaceships look better in the original because they look like a real solid physical object. However, the movements and the way the light interacts with the ships and the environment look better on the new cgi version. The ships don't look real enough, imo. It looks like a video game. Am I wrong?

You're not wrong. Those guys are ****. "Let's get some half assed pre-made models, constrain them to a spine along with the cameras, render it out then throw every overused comp effect we have. Then have 2 guys come over and suck us off" A 16 year old in his bedroom could do what they did in a day as well. The rendering was probably the longest bit out of the whole process.

Well I think they were saying it just took a week. They took already made 3d models on the internet and added lighting/effects/camera angles. Helps prove even with more added time/CGI/better artists, you can really feel the authenticity of real world models like in LOTR/SW and failure of PT/Hobbit movies.

I like how they all pat themselves on the back ''improving'' things from a near 50 year old movie with today's technology -- which came out of that very movie.

They must feel really good about themselves. I bet they each got a trophy.
