However, some generations are so fertile that the law of "One" must be broken...

:lol :lol

It seems that post-OT SW is never appreciated by existing fans in its time. But I sense that people are already coming around on BOBF. For years people only loved the PT for it's memes and now they just love it period whereas BOBF's memes are second to none! :lecture

Not a huge SW fan, although adored ANH in particular when it first released. It was fresh then. Lucas was drawing from some source material for his conception of the Force and the Jedi religion that I was into at the time, so it connected with me really strongly. But almost immediately thereafter (even with ESB tbh) the franchise started to feel rather heavy handed to me in its use of tropes and conventions. I started losing my willing suspension of disbelief. (And btw this is just my subjective quirk, not an objective knock.)

But anyway, I thank John Favreau for the Mandalorian which for me has rescued the SW story world. He‘s placing the western genre in the SW mythos and it totally works.

Finally got caught up and watched this and loved it. There are occasionally some dodgy practical effects here and there. And the lowering of stakes by glaringly unrealistic fights, etc. (especially the final all out gunfight between armies). But those are nitpicks really. Even in ANH Imperial storm troopers couldn‘t hit the side of a barn.

Loved how Fett won versus the higher gunslinger with his Tuscan stick. That was brilliant.

Love the Fett/Shand duo. Krrsantan is fun. The Rancor.

Even Peli didn’t bother me much!

Though at least Lucas knew his goofball was an absolute goof by design.
Disney and (unfortunately) Favreau don't seem to recognize their ridiculous goofballs for what they are , and might think theirs are the cool ones. :lol

Yep. Disney "babifies" everything now...
Baby Yoda
Baby Leia
Baby Babu
Baby Rancor
Baby Vader -- Kylo Ren and Reva
Baby R2 -- BB8 -- and then D-O

Hmmm? 😛

Ok who un-zombified this thread?! How will we leave this horrid memory behind us if you people wont let it recede and thus fade into memory?!! How can this show lie quiet in its grave if you people wont let it?? *tears hair, gesticulating at the heavens* How, HOW can the healing process begin?!!!!

Im joking.

Sorta. I think. Lol

Well after ANH, it was more that to me it was clear that ANH wasn't supposed to have a sequel (the Luke kissing his sister thing...) and of course there had to be a romance, and then there were the Teddy Bear Ewoks....it's like I was an SW fan, because who wasn't, unless you lived on one of those tiny islands where the indigenous people shoot arrows and curse at anyone flying by 😁 , and no, they don't want your help. But not an uber-fan.

Also, I got big into Middle Earth around then:gandalf:ogat.

Fast forward and actually it was the bickering over Kylo's cross-guard sword that got me reading into esoteric details, and it's like I was ready to backtrack and invest in SW some, way after the fact. Which has been pretty enjoyable. I admired the truly passionate SW fans. Then TROS by the end, kinda slapped me. Bad writing is just *&^%:poop: writing as well as introducing, then wasting, excellent characters. :banghead:duh

Course Mando saved SW (even tho it slid into reshash S2, same as the ST....) and now it's like, some sort of restaurant where u never know what u are gonna get served up. There's always SOME good stuff that keeps you hooked, at least for me. So there's the candy rangers in Boba and a bunny droid, but also an excellent Boba/Mando pairup (and I like Peli); Rasta Tusken, some beautiful shots, Fennec, and it's a cohesive story. Things lead from A to B to C. Maybe the writing and pacing was off, but there's a solid motivation spelled out why a stone cold killer like Boba morphs into more of a town godfather.

I trashed Boba as much as anyone:monkey3, but like the PT, it takes something as needlessly poorly done as Obi to take another look at the PT and Boba. Which, by contrast, IMO is full of holes, in the sense that Boba is never broken; while Obi is completely depressed IMO for no reason whatsoever. Completely broken. It makes no sense, as by the end of ROTS the character was more grim, but DID have a mission to protect this last, precious hope in the form of Luke. Obi IMO was so out of character, from the start. Too many - it. doesn't. compute:google. At least Boba's villains make sense; Reva's motivations are just WTF.

Well, yeah, I get that to many Boba fans there's ISSUES:monkey3 and I haven't read all the lore, and Boba's acceptance by the tribe and all that was kinda trope; but, *realistically* it's a decent arc for an aging bounty hunter/gunfighter, e.g. age has people rethinking things. Besides, the whole setup nicely sidestepped Mando and Boba trying to kill each other for whatever reason, and becoming bros instead. Seeing them fight together was badass and their interactions are great.:love Looking forward to Mando's trope end battle which ya just know Boba is gonna show up for.😁

So like, I rewatched Boba and it was kind of a balm after the utter fail of the Inquisitors I was slapped with; d@mmit I was so hyped to see Inquisitors live action from Rebels; instead I got something on the level of accidently eating something from the back of the fridge that was probably left from a week ago:yuck.

Long live Rasta Tusken!:lol

My expectations are lower than those for BOBF season 2.
Haha. I was thinking it'll be interesting if they do in fact do a S2 Book of Boba, and Faverau does admit to his errors and changes him back to the bad *** Boba everyone wants.

We'll all go in with rock bottom expectations, and then bam bad *** Boba is back ! Would be a good way to win back fans.

But knowing Disney they'll double down with lame *** Boba, and 90% won't watch it.

Looks like you’ll have to warm to the idea.

I know I'll be skipping season 2 of BoBF.
I'll give Andor a chance, the trailer looked OK.
Rumours suggest Ahsoka will have a fair few Rebels characters show up and I really wasn't a fan of Rebels so I have very little interest in the Ahsoka show. Still, will probably watch an episode or 2 to see how the show turns out.
Previous quality earns Mando season 3 a watch.
If they do a 2nd season of Kenobi I'll skip that.
But BoBF season 2? No chance.

I ask you, tho: Could BoBF season 2 be ANY WORSE than season 1?!

Perhaps he will finally get back to pistol-whipping Stormtroopers. Lets hope his political days are OVER.
As long as they learn from their mistakes and take our feedback onboard it'll be fine.

But given how much JF was defending this after the backlast I don't really see that happening.

I saw somewhere about Tem's take on his character for the show. He seems to get it, less talking, more helmet, more butt kicking. It's not rocket science. Let him kill a bunch of enemies, cameo some OT bounty hunters, they should be ok.
