Opening episode didn’t carry the same power as the openings of either S1 or S2 of the Mandalorian. Thought Boba Fett would be more of a though guy, more like Eastwood in the good the bad and the ugly. Instead he felt a bit clumsy, too laid back and a slow fighter.

Fennec on the other hand, was just as I expected Boba to be.

Hope we’ll see Boba shine in the next episode. Flying around with his jetpack, shooting and blowing up things. That’s the Boba and Jango we’re familiar with.

Currently, I can’t see this show topping the Mandalorian. Which I think most viewers are comparing it to. The Mandalorian’s story took off in the opening episode, BOBF’s story of Boba becoming a soft crime lord is a bit lacking currently.

If only it were 40 minutes…

This episodes strongly reinforces my thought why he was easily flipped over by Koska Reeves lol.

Agree about Fennec. I think they missed a huge opportunity to have Fett fly up on his jetpack when fennec was chasing the attackers and have him corner them. While I enjoyed the episode, Fett felt like Fennec’s sidekick in this one versus the other way around. Lordy, I do love Ming-Na though. She really is terrific.

Uh.....when a bunch of dudes surround you.....but you can literally FLY.....why don't you fly, and then shoot them all from behind??

Other than that and some clunky dialogue I dug it, but it didn't blow my brain outta the back of my skull like the pilot episode of Mandalorian did.

Very cool to see him digging his way out of that Sarlacc. Bizarre to see something I envisioned with my Kenner figures almost 40 years ago but now it's on TV.

Well now we see why she wears that giant, cumbersome helmet that covers all of her features. A lot easier for a stunt person to do all her parkour and let the 58 year old lady get some rest!

It was OK but most all that content could have been deduced by simply watching the trailers that released. And as nice as it was to see on screen, I have to agree with others that the Sarlaac escape was too simple and anticlimactic. Unfortunately there are now already only six short episodes left. I'm OK with a slowly paced show but these Disney + Star Wars shows that require a 18-24+ month wait should be at least 12 episodes.

Overall I enjoyed it, which ultimately is all that matters. Was great seeing the opening flashbacks, my favorite part of the show. Never thought we would see a live action Kamino again. Sarlacc pit was awesome. Aliens, droids, Mos Espa, Jabba’s ergh Fett’s Palace all great and all felt like classic Star Wars. Longer the episode went the more my initial excitement and enjoyment waned. I don’t find myself caring all that much about Fett the Crime Lord right now. I’m more interested in how Fett got to this position.

As far as things I didn’t like:

The change to the Tusken Raiders. Why not keep the classic outfits? I assume this is a new Tusken Raider tribe? Why did Boba fight the female Tusken? From my understanding Tuskens were more traditional, men raid, women attend the camp. Guess Disney didn’t like that.

This show seemingly lacks logic. Boba has a jetpack. Boba is encircled by shielded enemies. Jetpacks can fly. Thus Boba can fly up and burn them all easily. But Fennec Shand gets the glory? Also, where were the Gamorreans at? They followed closely behind the entire time but were missing for the first minute. Meanwhile in the flashback Boba was eaten by a Sarlacc, escapes, in the Tatooine sun for days, dragged around for days, emprisoned for days, then has all the strength in the world to beat some four armed beast, but struggles against guys with some shock sticks? It has been years since his injuries and unless I’m forgetting something, Boba is seemingly healed in present time, but comes off as far weaker. It is either another example in the long line of Disney Star Wars examples of having to make the male weak and the female strong OR Boba Fett is weakened and old from post-ROTJ to present. Don’t like this portrayal. Also, why is Boba willingly being captured and willingly walks back with the kid? They are realllllly driving home the respect thing.

Now maybe this was just me, but I felt like they tried to add too much humor in this. Boba Fett show isn’t something that should make me laugh unless Fett does something cool and badass.

But, like I said initially, still enjoyed it, can’t wait for next week, just some nitpicks.

It's pretty obvious we will see that Ithorian mayor in the next episode, and that he will have to answer for sending those assassins. He must be a rogue, because Ithorians are supposed to be peaceful gardener types. They already previewed those oppressive miners so I would expect to see Cobb Vanth in episode three after Fett deals with the mayor and those trandoshans from the trailers. Perhaps Fett will choke out another one of those sand monsters to live in his Rancor pit.

Yeah, I was sad as a kid that Max Rebo blew up on the Sail Barge. I read "Tales From Mos Eisley Cantina" and it says he made it out, but unless everyone was jumping into the sand like R2 and 3PO I just don't see how they'd survive.

The same book said Fortuna got out, but then his brain was turned into a B'Omarr Monk, so we know that's not "canon."

At any rate, I was happy to see Max alive and well, doing what he does best.

Not a bad start, not a great start. Was thoroughly disappointed with the Sarlacc escape, damn what a let down. I mean it looked good but it was too quick and easy. Some cool new designs though, and I did like the new sand creature And the new Tusken tribe. My main gripe was that Boba himself just didn’t seem like the Boba we were reintroduced to in Mando season 2, particularly in the Mos Espa scenes. He’s quite mild mannered and personable, then gets knocked on his *** while Fennec gets the job done. With six episodes left, I hope the series goes full throttle from next week on.

I hope we’ll see more Jango moves in future episodes. The Boba we’ve seen today is not, as you say, the Boba we received in Mando. The fighting scene in Mando ep 14 was stellar, great return of the character. There were some weird moments like him not using the jet pack when trapped during the fight sequence. Boba using such laidback and mild temper feels out of character, for being the most feared and dangerous bounty hunter in the galaxy.

Wonder, do you think the episodes will run in similar lengths as this one, or downsized to 20 minutes each?

After The Mandalorian this one feels more like a fan made movie, because some of the acting and direction just felt off.

Boba doesn't look too good in his new tight fitting costume and boots either.

The parkour was too parkour, but the non-trained Fennec was obviously being pulled up by wires.

The Barsoomian Green Martian coming out of the sand was good.

Cosplayer versions of OT characters starting to add up... add wonky-*** Max Rebo, Gammys and Tuskens that look even worse than the Mando Tuskens to the growing list. That Max looked like a plush toy cast-off.

And Boston Dynamics dog-robots in SW? And those Turtles Shredder parkour guys with the shields looked more out of power rangers than SW.

For most of the time I didn't feel convinced by what they were showing us. The Mandalorian felt authentic. This one seems to lack a strong controlling hand, or a clear vision.

This episode started well with the Sarlacc escape, the barge wreckage and the Jawas. Even the capture by Tuskens, who are now even more Bedouin with their black robes and tents.

Then it started to veer off into something like a Disney World version of Star Wars. Where did the ruthless Boba Fett go? This one's a big old softy. No wonder the mayor didn't take him seriously - though I couldn't take the mayor's major domo seriously either. :lol

Watching this episode reminds me of the first time I saw The Phantom Menace. It's Star Wars, but not quite Star Wars.
