Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Thanks voorhees and hicks. :duff Joker is a great figure untouched but with a little fast tweaking he really shines.

More painting this weekend for those that have sculpts waiting on me. I'll have a couple Hans done pretty soon. Thanks for having patience with me guys!

Deak should have his Anakin sculpt this weekend so I'm looking forward to getting some geared up pics from him once it arrives. :rock

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

great luke repaint! the sculpt looks much better now with the flesh tones

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

I haven't finished with Luke yet but here's your Anakin...

That's the stock Sideshow sculpt? It looks great. It just goes to show how badly they screwed up the paint. The sculpts on these figures are usually solid, but things get lost in the painting process -- I think because it's done overseas and they just don't have good enough oversight in place to make sure it comes out right.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Yep, stock sculpt, and it's a good one. Anakin had one of the worst paint jobs ever and it completely screwed up the beautiful sculpt.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Hey Vic! Here's your Han. I'm going to try and get that black rub mark out of his shirt that happened during shipping and then I'll dye it.

Matt, your Han is almost done then I'll finish up your Luke.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Thanks! I use a mixture of three different acrylic paints, layering them in diffrent mix ratios and washes.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Great repaint Coco. Your skin tone really is quite nice. I'm still trying to develop a formula for skin tones. It's difficult because the dried paint always has a different shade than when it is wet. It also depends on the original color of the substrate you are painting on. Sometimes, I have lucked out with a natural skin tone. But by that time, I have mixed so many colors so many times, I have lost track of how many drops I have used from each paint bottle!

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Luke looks great man, I need to send you my head so I can get his hair repainted. Now if we could only fix that tunic.
