Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Holy ____.

Christopher Nolan's third Batman adventure is about to start filming at the Pennsylvania city's Carnegie Mellon University under the codename Magnus Rex.
A post on the university's website reveals that the shoot will involve 'an explosion, a prison break, precision stunt driving, gunfire, atmospheric smoke, and controlled pyrotechnic explosions.'
Another scene features: 'One character drives a motorcycle through the fourth floor lobby, out the front doors and down the steps onto Fifth Ave.'
A recent casting call for The Dark Knight Rises drew a crowd of over 8,000 hopefuls to Pittsburgh.

The wannabe actors tried out for roles as prisoners, victims, criminals, police officers, business people and sports fans.
The movie has been shooting most recently at Nottingham's Wollaton Hall.
Christian Bale, who reprises his role as Batman, was spotted filming scenes with new cast member Anne Hathaway, who plays Selina Kyle and Catwoman.
The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released on July 20, 2012
The movie also stars Gary Oldman, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard.

sounds like the biggest action sequence in all the films.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Somebody driving a motorcycle through a lobby and down stairs amid gunfire and smoke sounds like the biggest action sequences in all the films?
:slap
Sorry, I meant the film in general. Not just that one scene. but a prison break, explosions and stunt driving through a packed football stadium. Sounds pretty awesome IMO.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Probably just bats in front of whatever color Nolan chooses for this movie.

Wasn't the very original BB teaser just bats flying over the orange background? Then TDK was the Bats on blue if I'm not mistaken?

The TDK one was the bat logo crumbling with light pouring out the back of it and audio.

Nope - Begins Teaser was:

You're right about the TDK teaser, and I wouldn't be surprised if this one was voiceover too.

Since it's rumored to be about 30 seconds longer than the TDK teaser, I wouldn't be surprised if there was actual footage in this one, ala BB.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I would hope Bane makes an appearance in the trailer, but that's just wishful thinking.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I wonder if his voice will be even deeper now.

Pretty soon James Earl Jones or Michael Clarke Duncan will be the voice of Batman :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I hear that Tom Waits just yells into a megaphone for the voice of Batman in this one.

Very good point - I was just trying to force myself not to expect any footage so if there is, I'd be that much more blown away lol

Now you have me fully expecting some footage!

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

:monkey1 :wink1: :hi5: sorry buddy! :lol

I'm kind of expecting a bit of both: First 30 seconds a v/o with some sort of atmospheric noise, maybe a graphic. Then BOOM - transition into a fast paced montage of footage. Only to return to a v/o at the end, maybe "Why do we fall Bruce...." :yess:

Pure imagination/speculation of course...can't wait to see what they do...:panic:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I expect footage to be shown as well considering it's 1 minute and 33 seconds. I'm thinking almost like a montage of the footage they've shot that gives you a general idea of what this film's theme will be about.

Sort of like what was shown after the Bank Heist for I am Legend,

Mix that with a similar style of the Begins (footage) and TDK (bat image and dialogue message) teasers and that's what I think we'll be seeing.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Another blurb about the college posting same basic information but it's making the rounds which means I would look for more phototogs to be aware and snapping shots.:

The Dark Knight Rises will soon shoot in Pittsburgh at Carnage Melon University and the university blog (via First Showing) revealed some kind of spoilerish details about the shoot which happens near the end of July. (Details that have since been removed, oops.) These should most certainly be considered spoilers so, if you are trying to remain untainted, jump to the next story now. Here’s what their blog says:

Scenes outside the SEI, which will be portrayed as a prison, will include an explosion, a prison break, precision stunt driving, gunfire, atmospheric smoke, and controlled pyrotechnic explosions. Scenes outside the Fifth Ave. entrance of Mellon Institute include a standoff between two rivals that escalates into a riot. One character drives a motorcycle through the fourth floor lobby, out the front doors and down the steps onto Fifth Ave.

Are they referring to the prison break of Bane? Certainly sounds like it.
