Batman and Rachel really die when they fall from the Penthouse. The rest of the film focuses on is "what if they somehow landed safely".

Seriously though, it felt like it was just a way to get Batman away from the Joker. Batman could have subdued the Joker right then and there but of course the Joker had to threaten Rachel. It makes sense I guess to distract Batman, but the guy he's dealing with has a grappling hook, a glider and a freaking armored suit. He's trained for this crap.

Still doesn't make sense why Batman wouldn't continue to pursue the Joker after they landed. I mean, he's right there on the street isn't that where the Joker will be headed? It would have been a "Batman moment" where the Joker and his goons are making their way down to the street and Batman shows up and takes their asses to jail. But nope, I guess Batman just gave up? What about the Joker? He just gave up looking for Harvey Dent too (though Joker does suspect that Dent may be Batman)? How would Bruce have felt if he threatened the guests or hell, killed Alfred?

You'd think Batman could've tackled Joker as he dived out after Rachel, especially considering how prone he is to knocking people off of tall buildings.

Well, he is right.

A car roof gives, concrete doesn't.

I still don't buy it though. they should've had Rache's hair get messed up, then I would believe it.

I don't care how armored that suit is, they both would've popped like ripe melons. I've helped a Monterey County coroner scrape a guy off of the top of a car after falling only 3 stories.

You'd think Batman could've tackled Joker as he dived out after Rachel, especially considering how prone he is to knocking people off of tall buildings.

Or Rachel shouldn't have been stupid and listened to Bruce when he said "they've come for him, stay hidden".

It's awkward when she just comes out of no where when the Joker is holding that old, bald man and says, "ok, stop". Oh yeah, what are you going to do? Knock him out with your killer looks?
