Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I must say my anticipation for this one went up a bit after seeing the latest trailer in IMAX. My problem with modern Batman (anything): its all been downhill since Adam West

It's all been uphill for me, except the bump in the road with Schumacher :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

And I do believe it focused on Gordon stumbling onto something.

Here's my theory on events in TDKR.

Bane's initial attack is to purely draw out Batman, break him, break his image, and capture him for more punishment. I think the final dare will be wounding Gordon. Whether you know who Batman is or not, it is quite public that Gordon was on his side. I think Gordon broken in bed is what it'll take to bring Batman out of retirement, starting with a dramatic escape from the window, mirroring the birth of Batman in Begins, with Wayne more casual, though mostly in batsuit, with a hood over his head.

While it doesn't necessarily make sense, I feel the cane is going to be a factor before the Bane fight, because all indications are, Bruce is hauled off to that pit prison after getting his ass kicked and so it makes no sense for him to come back to things all quite. So the talk of letting Gordon go, especially since it mentions the Mayor and presumably the one from TDK that continues into this film, but eventually dies, takes place before Bane sets off his plan, the masquerade party all comes before that. I really think early on is going to be a bit of setup, where's Bruce Wayne at these days not begin Batman, and perhaps his cane is from an injury during his time as Batman on the run, we all just assumed it would be from Bane's attack, but based on trailers and all, I think after Bane hurts him, we don't see him back in Gotham except healed as i climbs out of the pit.

With Batman out of the city, Bane then goes back to carry out the big plot to take down Gotham and Batman returns to Fox waiting some new toys to fight Bane and works in secret with Gordon and Catwoman to orchestrate a fight against Bane.

Really good observations and theory there MF. That's what I was thinking closely as well. Though

His cane, is most likely from the fall he took at the end of TDK. As well as the gun shot.

All in all, I know that the Gordon scene will be one of my favorites.

Yeah i'm on the same wavelength on most of this.

Wouldn't a pothole be a better analogy. A bump would continue to make things go up, not down :lecture

Much better analogy :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah I remember that, though I don't think it had anything about Bane waiting for Batman

But maybe I just missed that part

You're right it was a little different:

When Commissioner Gordon stumbles upon a plot to destroy the city from within, Bruce Wayne gets back into action as the Batman. Waiting for him is the mysterious Selina Kyle and Bane, a lethal adversary on a crusade to tear apart Batmans legacy piece by piece.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

if Catwoman helps Batman at the end or whatever, doesn't that make her Batgirl as well? technically?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I guess I mean she is like a batgirl in the sense that she will fight alongside batman,

Then that also makes her Robin, Nightwing, Huntress and Superman ... in the sense that they all have fought alongside Batman. Or does fighting alongside Batman make Robin, Nightwing, Huntress and Superman into Batgirl? What a cluster.

Shorter answer ... no.

Important to note.... Catwoman herself (and I mean in the comics, In the Animated Series, etc) has fought along side Batman several times....

Yup. I would be disappointed if she was just a villain and am happy this Catwoman will be allied with Batman at some point in the film. I hope she's not a hero in the sense Batman is though. My ideal Catwoman is someone who has good motives but uses criminal methods to achieve them.

From everything that we've read and been told, this is how she will be in the film. She will be a grey character.

I really hope that's not the way it goes down. ANY PART OF IT !

:slap :slap

You guys need to read up on the history of Batman and Catwoman.
