In what way is the 184 million opening weekend unrealistic? Because TDK's was 160 million and that had the benefit of some serious buzz surrounding the Joker and Heath's death. TDKR won't be bringing in near-Avengers weekend numbers. I'd stake my avatar on that.

Yes, and that 160 million in today's marketplace is 174 million. Here we go again with the Joker and Ledger's death. This film as alot of buzz. Final movie in the series, same actors in all the same parts, and it's Chris Nolan. Everyone who saw TDK will be going to see this and if it's just as good as the last two, they will see it again and again. So... you have just staked your avatar my friend.

There were alot of other factors that played into TDK's success.

1. Alot of people saw BB on DVD and loved it.
2. The first trailer for the film blow people's minds.
3. The viral marketing that went on for a whole year all over the world.
4. Ledger's death.
5. Dent's cross country tour.
6. Ledger's performace as The Joker.
7. The film was great and people saw it multiple times.
