I blame everyone involved but I also wish Snyder would shut up his fanbase or call them out when they do crazy ****. Like harassment and spamming bots. But dude loves the praise and his ego won’t let it die so he baits his fans with pics online so that they get their hopes up over something that will never happen.

It wouldn't have been better but it might have allowed Snyder to fail on his own and stop the "restore the Snyder verse" cries from ever happening. One man's vision tried and failed. As it is, there are too many people involved and thus plenty to share the blame, as opposed to one misguided perosn.
I think with the audience reviews for ZJSL being the best of the DCEU show that it more than likely would have been well received especially with Wonder Woman doing so well.

It has its fans for sure, but what percentage of the public do those reviews constitute? (Rhetorical question). Snyder has his rabid fanbase but the "Snyderverse" didn't work. MOS and BvS will not be remembered as successes. I like plenty of movies that are not considered successes and many successful movies I feel are subpar. What can you do? If nothing else, when Gunn gets underway the Snyder talk should (I hope) go away. Heck, we may have already entered a post-comic book movie era and haven't realized it yet.

I realize it.

Post-pandemic, post-comic book movies... everything's different, people are different. It's time to get the 20's started.

Mission Impossible Part 7 will bring back good old "believable" action movies again without capes and mesh 'spandex'.

I'm actually also surprised those MI flicks are still being churned out. I think I saw the first two. But I can't stomach Cruise on any given day. But to your point, the movies need something fresh. Perhaps the debacles of these releases could signal a change.

I do feel like the MI movies becoming "cool again" has a lot to do with people growing tired of CBMs completely taking over the sci-fi/fantasy/adventure/action genre for a decade. If all you are offered other than CBMs is Tom Cruise and John Wick for action, you'll take it... more and more.

There is a great hunger out there. Feed it.

Everyone knows how bad Indy 5 is going to be, yet watch -- it will likely fare better at the boxoffice than The Flash did.

Good point about MI and JW. (y) Hadn't thought of their popularity in those terms, which is odd when you recall the Cavill-Stache incident.

First MI was really good, 2 and 3 were meh, then from 4 on it got really badass and hit a groove. MI7 will be an opening weekend trip for me.
Not to further derail, but I was always a John Woo fan so I appreciated MI:2, the last one I saw.

Also, it appears WB stocks are down today in case someone wanted to swoop in and grab some. (y)

O lord please no! I want creature features back

I believe that as the year's roll by BvS will become a classic similar to The Shining and Blade Runner. Poor initial reviews and box office that didn't meet expectations. I've witnessed quite a few people finally "get it" recently.

I also think that no matter what Gunn does, Snyder's unfinished saga will haunt WB and be the subject that is repeatedly discussed for the foreseeable future.

Whether you love or hate the Snyderverse it at least had SOME artistic quality and vision, what we have received from the DCEU since in the Hamada era has been utter and completely soulless corporate bilge.
And as T800 says, it will now always be the "lost Lenore" of a not insignificant part of the audience who will always wonder what could have been and comparing whats produced to what they imagine.
Whereas if they just allowed Snyder to do his self-contained little universe he would be done by now and the audience would be looking forward to a new era anyway.
