I know! It is a great feeling! Honestly this is my first what I would consider to be REAL tattoo. Not that I don't love my others. But I was young and just kinda had them done. This one though I LOVE! I can't wait for the tail and the smoke. He said he wants to put some more stuff in the head too but I don't see what? But hey he is the boss!

Damn Rory when do you go in again? We need to fill this thread up! :banana

I know! So far it's only you and me really talking back and forth. :lol I go in to get my rib piece in a little less than two weeks so about 10 days left to go! :horror:google

At what age did you get the rest of your tattoos? I see you have one under the Phoenix, will that one be safe or is it due to be covered by the tail?

I went into the tattoo shop and I gave the artist some reference pictures and that was it. He is totally in control so I know what you mean. It's a good thing though because he has been around doing this stuff for so long that he knows exactly what makes a tattoo good. Plus, I am driving way out of my way to have him work on my tattoo for a reason. :lol

Well there goes my idea that I told you about...

Here are pics from my last tattoo that I got 2 years ago:

I'm going next month as a father's day gift to get something on the other side to balance it out...

I currently have 2 more tattoos on the backs of my calves but no pics of them...

Cool man! Thanks for sharing! :rock

I started at age 16. I have a little Chinese dragon on my back that I love! Then when I was 18 I ran right out and got a tribal design on my left arm. Then when I graduated I wanted something a little larger so I got a dragon on my right calf. Finally I have the USMC on my right arm that I got during infantry school. The lettering will not be covered up but the tail will wrap around snug around it.

10 days bro! That will be here before you know it! I cannot wait to see it! :rock

You might be the only one of my online friends to see it... I am shy. :lol

I had a cool Mom. Plus it helped that my Dad was in Bosnia at the time. He was very strict military and even hated earings. LOL! So....I said Mom pretty please. I would go on to at one time have 5 earings (two in my right and three in my left), my left eyebrow and nipple pierced. Plus my three tatts. Ever since the Marines I think all my piercings have come out. However, I can still put stuff through my tongue and nipple!

Ok.....so I guess I should share the whole story because its funny and very memorable.

My sister was dating a guy at the time who had a tattoo. I wanted one so for my birthday I talked my mom into it. It was great! The tattoo studio that we went too was your typical tattoo studio if you know what I mean. People smoking, blood shot eyes, the whole bit. After all this was 96 when tattoos were a good bit more taboo than they are today. So we went in and my sis's boyfriend introduced me to the tattooist. I think there is a definate difference between a tattooist and an artist. :lol He had blood shot eyes, and a cig hanging from his mouth. He told me to pic out what I wanted. Back then tattoo shops had flash everywhere on the walls and in books. So I love Chinese and Japanese art so I went with a Chinese dragon. Right when he put the stencil on he got a phone call. He repeated to yell (in front of my mom) "Shut up ^^^^^! I'll get home when I get home!". I knew I was in for a treat after that. Somehow it made the experience. He then started to do the tatt. He was very quick and very kind! After we were done he told me to come back for a free touch up. So I came back like 3 weeks later. I asked him if he could add the flames coming out of the mouth. He said "Sure dude!". He finished re touching and doing the flames. I asked him how much. He said don't worry about it. So I tipped him again and left. I was so excited. So without further delay here is the pic of my first albeit faded tattoo. I was one of only a few kids all in highschool to have one. :lol I think I may need to get him recolored. He was really bright at one point. Since then they have come a long way in inks. I may share my other ones now too! LOL! They all have their own little stories. I would also like to add how hard it was to take this picture. :lecture

:google:horror Very brave bro, very brave! :google:lol

Thanks for sharing that story. It doesn't even look that bad at all for your first and knowing the story makes it even funnier and more meaningful.

32 hours! :google:horror I'd have to quit this hobby for that piece. Looks good though man- I bet people are really impressed when you show it to them.

I would be torn about getting a tattoo on my back only because I want to constantly see it. I am selfish. :lol
