Ok, not 100% happy with this yet, he came out a little too tan and still needs a little touching up on the hair but here's the fruit of today's labor...

Looks good so far, Billy. If you applied a couple light fleshtone washes (paint/water mix) it'll help bring down that tan.

Yeah, gonna try that after work today. He was a little pale so I mixed in a little medium portrait pink and, well, now he has that George Hamilton look.

I think I may try to redo his eyes as well, the pupils came out way darker than I was going for. Hate to do it, because I got them nice and straight on the first try. Not sure if I should paint over them or remove the paint and start over.

One question for you guys in the know...do you lay down primer on resin heads first? I've only ever painted one other resin head in the past, and I did primer that one. I ask because I had him just about where I wanted him at one point, looking really good skin tone wise and then his nose started peeling! I managed to recover from it without having to strip it, but wondering if primer would have prevented this? I also had a ***** of a time getting paint to stick to certain portion of his hair for some reason.

Good stuff so far Billy Ray. I really need to find the time and paint mine up.

I am glad you are posting WIP pics and asking the expert painters for some advice, tips/questions. All this will come in handy when I go to do mine. Thanks.

Ok, take two (sorry, not the best lighting)...

Lightened up his tan, repainted the eyes, touched up his hair and added highlights. Still not 100% happy with the eyes but he is much better!

Thanks! I am still thinking of re-doing the eyes one more time. I almost nailed it this time but his right eye looks a little off...left one is almost perfect though...gotta hate that. I wound up painting over the eyes yesterday but am thinking of stripping them and completely starting over...not sure if that's the right way to go or not.

Any advice on repainting the eyes? Should I strip them and start over or try to paint over them again? It doesn't really show in these latest pics, due to the poor lighting, but they are a little off.

Ok, repainted the eyes again today. Carefully scraped off the paint and started over. Much happier with him now!

First off, let me apologize for spamming this thread with pics...but I am so excited to have a decent Bespin Han finally! I think I pretty much have him where I want him...not Ski quality, but definitely my best work.

Anyway finally was able to take some shots in decent, natural light today...
