well, seems like the movie has done quite well at the box office, world wide

I know. Smaug was some of the best CGI work we've ever seen he's worth an Oscar alone IMO.

Hey gang, I've yet to see this, but were the special effects CGI better in this film than in the Hobbit?

For the most part yes. Azog definitely looked better and Smaug was pretty good. Gollum in The Hobbit is still the most realistic CGI I've seen in the Hobbit/LotR movies though.

That took all the solo images and put them together, which makes for a strange looking poster.

Yeah, it's one thing if they're going for a collage, but to put them all together as if they're in the same scene is just idiotic. Looks like Gandalf is about to attack Legolas, unless Thranduil can strike the wizard first!
