I was waiting last year and clicking "refresh" like mad, waiting for the chance to get the Luke PF. I got a white screen, and by the time it loaded, they were gone. That one had an ES of 500, so there were only 50 to go around. 200 out of an ES of 2000 would last longer, but then again, more people would be after it since it would be cheaper and part of a popular line.

I will tell you this--ordering the non-attendee exclusive 12" Star Wars figure will not be a fun experience. There will be a lot of people who won't get their order in. Thankfully, it will be a variation on an existing character, so that won't hurt quite so bad...

That's what I'm worried about is if the site is slow, and I have the SW 12" in my cart, it would suck if it sold out while I was trying to get to another portion of the site to order something else.

Most likely the Con Exclusives will go on pre-order at different times than each other.

There are also some useful links in the blog entry that can answer a few of your questions GSR:

https://www.sideshowtoy.com/behindtheshow/?cat=26

And we will answer all of them and more in the weeks to come! Have no fear, it is our intention that you will all be well-informed consumers by the time the pre-ordering rolls around - and if you can come to the Con itself, even better!! :banana

This will be my 3rd year in a row going, but my first as a Sideshow freak; so I'm looking forward to meeting some of the Sideshow staff that is there.

Last year they all went up at different times, although all on the same day if I remember correctly.

This thread is getting a bit crowded with other things than specific questions regarding this year's SDCC exclusives.

Why don't we start a new thread where members can answer and leave this thread for specific questions that SSC can address in the newsletter, blog and website updates.

Thanks.

Thanks for this thread Chicky, it's a nice initiative. Here are my questions:

- Will there be a fixed date & hour for the SDCC exclusives to go on pre-order (e.g. priority pre-order), and will we know about it?
- Will the SDCC exclusives for non attending EU collectors be shipped from the EU warehouse?
- Last year, several of the SDCC Exclusives where available through some of your distributors here in Europe. Will it be the same this year? If so, do these items offered by the EU distributors make part of the 10% which are reserved for the non-attendees?
-10% is reserved for non attendees. That's worldwide?
- Have you seen the "I'm the Juggernaut..." cartoon yet? Ask Dusty, it's hilarious!

Thank you for all the questions, please reread the ones that others have posted and try to add new ones.

It would be good if anyone can add insight as to whether any of the web graphics or info posted last year was in any way confusing. We would like to improve this aspect as well!

We will make sure all of these questions and more are answered well before any Con ex.s begin to pre-order, no worries! Pleaselook to our newsletter and web site as we begin to post more Con info!

Best,
Chicky

Last year seemed comlpetely clear to me. It does appear to have been some confusion on the Hellboy figure. It seems some overseas collectors didn't realize that 1000 were being set aside for them. If any of the exclusives will be handled like Hellboy was last year, some more clearification on that might be helpful. Other than that, everthing seemed pretty straight forward.

Thanks for bringing this up Chicky, you're on the ball alrighty.

The only problem I had last year was the time zone differences. I just happened to log into chat last year, thinking I had a couple of hours to kill, only to be told by Adam, who was the only person lurking there, that Patient Zero was up for non-attendee pre-order in 5 minutes. I had checked with another board member, on the relative time, and checked a time zone on line converter, that Chris suggested. I still got it wrong. However, Dusty took all the guess work out, by recently posting a link to 'Time Zones for Dummies', which bypasses all my inadequacies. https://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_US-CA.aspx
This year I know there will be no trouble. We'll see.

Thank you Dusty. You're awecore. :monkey5 :D

Will you need to be registered with the Newsletter like the "Priority Pre-orders" to pre-order the SDCC exclusives?

That's what I'm scared of, same experience with the Luke Exclusive last year... It was gone in less than 2 minutes...

Assuming there is a PF excluisive in either/both the LOTR or SW line this year. Will we be given the chance to have them shipped to our homes like last year with the Luke piece? That way we don't have to walk around trying to carry that big box.

A question for all attending SDCC...would anyone be willing to swing by Gallup, New Mexico and pick me up....I have gas money!!!:D

I would be VERY surprised if Sideshow offered a PF as an exclusive. I don't think that they thought it through... that they would have to bring all those big boxes at the Con. So to avoid all of that, they offered to sent them home. I'm sure flipping for all that postage wasn't fun for them.

And IF they do offer one, what is to stop a non-attendee from offering one as an attendee if they don't have to be there to pick it up? I guess they could make it mandatory that you pay for it at the con and not have it just automatically billed to your account credit card.

Will the sculpters be at the SS booth to sign autographs?

I asked Andy B. about getting his autograph on my Han and Luke PF bases, but he said that he unfortunately will probably not be attending SDCC this year. :monkey2 Here's hoping that changes!

To hell with that idea. Andy should stay at home and work on some LotR stuff instead of screwing around at SDCC. :p ;) :D

Will the priority pre-ordering of the exclusives be at the same time for the attendee and non-attendee versions of the same item?

Will there be some kind of waitlist for the attendee version for those going but missed on ordering the item(s)? Or must they try for a non-attendee version?

On DVD #4, the pick up booth looked really busy. Was there ever a slower time which made it easier to pick up or was it constantly busy?

Will anyone be there to sign autographs (both staff or celebreties like Lance Henrickson?). If so, what items or things would be acceptable to bring to be autographed (ie boxes, comics, photos, etc.)

Will there be any free stuff like DVD's or catalogs or other items to be handed out?

Will Sideshow freaks members get any special perks at the con? Perhaps some special badges could be made for us to print out and wear to the con to identify ourselves better?

You say you will be there to answer ALL of our questions on the site. Do you want to reword that? I know there will be some questions (ie what is the next Star Wars figure) that you won't be allowed to answer. :D

PS Can you tell this will be my fist time going? :D

Would like to know when the non attendee pre orders will take place, so I can book time off work. Fingers crossed.

Also, will multiple purchases, e.g if you are lucky to score three of the seven exclusives, be able to be boxed and shipped together.

How will the ordering of items announced at SDCC take place. I might not have internet connection at the con and wouldn't want to miss out on pre-ordering any figures announced, especially any Exclusive or Star Wars piece. Will they go up for pre-order a week or so after the con, or even a week or so before? Or will those attending be able to order them in person like last year's Dr. Doom problem?
