I can't believe Sideshow is charging $800 for their vinyl Swamp Thing.

Jesus Christ. I know it's pretty much a meme around here to hate on Sideshow but that's just ridiculous. Even if they were the best company in the world at pouring vinyl (they aren't), that's just absurd. They're not an art toy company. They don't make limited runs of five vinyl figures by hand somewhere in a workshop in Hokkaido.

I wouldn't expect it to look as good as the prototype they're showing off. Vinyl's a troublesome material, it can be hard to get it to hold very sharp details unless you really know what you're doing with it.

I love Batman and I love the Arkham games, but this is just sad. :lol

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that this morning. At first I thought I was going to love it, but the more I look at it, the more I just wonder "why?"

I'll admit, at first I thought it would be a great stand in for the Batman Beyond costume in the game, but then the emblem is totally wrong, and he still has his cape which made me concede that it's nothing more than a half assed repaint. HT had the balls to call it the Batman Beyond costume on their Instagram. It's beyond alright, beyond lazy.

I bought the Prime 1/3 Batman Beyond statue and love it, but they didn't make that suit. They just repainted bits of the outfit red and put a crazy gloss on it. I would have bought the figure if it looked like this.

Prime's is matte black with barely any red, and the symbol is correct. Plus, no ****ing cape!

I don't really collect DC stuff, I just saw it go up for sale. Is there, like, a story behind it? Or someone just thought "Now this is something people want!" XD

Such a magnificent statue. Do you have the others from the Arkham line?

I believe it was a bootleg that came out in 2012-ish, it was based on an internet meme.

I don't have any others, but I preordered their Arkham Knight Catwoman and Arkham Origins Joker (I love the Red Hood EX). That size is tough to collect due to space issues, but some of them are too hard to pass up. I'm going to get the Doomsday statue no matter what. I'll figure out where it will go later. :lol

That reminds me, I saw the Arkham Knight at a store few weeks back. It's truly a work of art, despite me not being a fan of the character at all. :lol

Meh, I knew from day one that it's goin' to be something lame.
I was actually surprised they didn't bring Joker back to life.
