I said I'd do it eventually, and I did...

Watched Justice League yesterday. Jesus Christ, what a cluster**** of a film. Think I'm going to blame Whedon for most of what was wrong with it. Noticed the footage he shot looked incredibly bland and TV-like compared to Snyder's footage, which he'd in turn ruined by artificially brightening it up. Elfman soundtrack was awful, and I say that as someone who likes his work - would much rather have heard what Junkie XL cooked up. Snyder doesn't get away scott free though, Ezra Miller was a horrible choice for Barry Allen. Didn't like Momoa as Aquaman much either. Steppenwolf was a horribly bland villain, no idea why they didn't stick to the much more creepy design from the BvS outtakes. Also the film felt far too short and rushed, genuinely like it was missing an hour of character motivation and backstory. Cyborg got criminally short-changed, apparently he was a much more developed character in Snyder's version, and the emotional centre of the movie. The Superman lips were even worse than I expected.

I'd be very interested to see Snyder's original cut if it's ever released, if only to see a consistent Batman performance from Affleck. When it's clearly the earlier Snyder footage he really seems to be inhabiting the role, looks fit and lean and mean - all the Whedon scenes he looks fat, tired and like he'd rather be dead than reshooting the earlier material.

You know Batfleck was pissed about having to go back to work when he wasn't expecting it. He'd already started eating like **** and stopped working out, then gets the call that he has to squeeze back into the suit for a few weeks. :lol

so who's buyin that jack burton fig?!?

giphy.gif

 I’ve got the stupid thing preordered.

I should have known better since it’s ****ing Sideshow, but I had a coupon. I may cancel the damn thing anyway. I don’t know why they keep throwing their hat in the ring after producing so many horrible head sculpts.

good call...
did the exact same thing about an hour ago. no f'n way they are gettin my cash for that ridiculous looking thing!!! they refunded my NDR and moved the points back to my account! i feel bad for all those guys in that thread with the "it's not great but not as bad as everyone says". god that is a ridiculous thing to say when dumping $240 on a 2nd tier figure! lololol

I can understand it, almost. There's not likely to be another Jack Burton figure at any point.

It's yet another disappointment from Sideshow. There's no point in them producing stuff from licenses like this if all they're going to do is **** out a figure with a head sculpt you don't want on your shelf.

oh i totally agree. but it's so bad i'm assuming it'll be a shelf warmer for a bit. grab it at some cheap sale down the road or off evilbay when the inevitable deal pops up.

I cancelled it. It'll pop up during a sale at some point if I change my mind.

well done sir!!

Good decision. Something like that is not worth putting in a collection.

ehh...i dunno... i'd buy it if it were $120 range. like w/ snake plissken. it wasn't a perfect fig by a long shot... but i waited and picked up for around $100. well worth it for that kinda money. the 2nd tier figures aren't worth that $$$. hell if you look at the 3rd party from some of the likes of toys works w/ their king pin figure... or eleven with their killer logan and x23 figures... they are around $100 and damn near hot toys quality on the sculpts and paint work. SS should be ashamed of themselves putting this out and charging $240 + $20 to ship!!!

exactly. won't loose sleep not having it. and for $240 they can keep it!

SS prices are absurd... just looking at the luke cage they are putting out... that thing looks cornball...it's $250 shipped.

That Cage has an awful head sculpt. Plus, Sideshow missed a huge opportunity to include an old school head sculpt and shirt to be able to have two display options. They could have tossed both in for the price they’re charging.

Absolutely!

And it’s just further accentuated when you see the ultra realism and amazing paint work that is done by these third-party companies for a fraction of the price. I can’t believe people actually spend the money that they are spending on the products they put out. I have a lot of their stuff, but have purchased it all at the realistic price range of $100 give or take which is what the stuff should be costing.
