Hey WG, what you been keeping from us all this time bro? :lol No better time to show it off! Love it! Great Custom there. Love the outfit and especially the HS expression, I like the weathered band on the hat too!

OK, since everyone is showing off their INDY, I thought I'd finally show off mine:

This figure has an interesting history: It originally belonged to Chris King (cking) and I acquired it from him in 2002. Apparently, this was one of Sovereign Studios prototype Indiana Jones figures from which he created the clothing patterns for the ones we've all seen so many times since then. Chris worked very closely with Shawn at Sovereign on this one to get all the scale and details correct for its time. When I saw, back in 2002, I just had to have it. It has a unique head sculpt I've never seen before or since. Let me know what you guys think?

My shots from 2002 -- before my kitchen became the focal point:

Thanks guys! Means a lot, seriously. Particularly with Indy... and since there's been so many awesome ones shown already.

And yes Jungle Jom, the hat IS big, I agree. But the flash really catches the "dirt" on it, lights it up in a bad way. In hand, the hat looks great. Oversized for the head, but great. Like I said, maybe I'll use it for SS Indy one day... but I hate to disrupt the history of this figure. It's been in some talented hands.

It's the same black jacket he wears in most of the film.

And I think Ford looks especially bad ass in that pic. :rock

I agree. Of course the whole endeavor could just end up to be one laughingstock of a film or...Ford just might be a badass old guy like Eastwood in Unforgiven. And that would rock.

The difference though is Eastwood was a badass before Unforgiven. Ford's characters are good, but they are no Man with No Name, Josey Wales, Gunny Highway, William Munny and blow your head clean off Dirty Harry!

If Eastwood was pres in Airforce One, the movie would be over in 10 min.

dont know about you guys but i plan on getting a new one of these for the release of the movie:

i will also have the fedora, whip, and gear ready to go!!!

I got one of Peter Botwrites (sp?) Indy jackets about 4 years ago.... Best money I ever spent. 100% Guarentee you will love it forever. It looks great, the leather (the dark, authentic soft lamb) feels amazing but it comes out of the box a little shiney and needs to be distressed a little to look the part. You won't regret it! (His shirts are great too!)

The best part is that it is totally screen accurate, made by hand by the actual guy who did the movie jackets!

Here's me Halloween costume last year:

Awesome jacket! :monkey5 I want to get one too! I wore my old leather jacket one Halloween and had the felt fedora I got from the Star Wars Fan Club. I even had a bullwhip too. But my jacket didn't look anything like this totally "screen accurate" one! The fact that it was made by the guy that made the ones for the movies is incredible too. :D

I too am trying to round up an Indy outfit. I already have the hat, gun belt, holster and whip holder on the way, but I just can't find the Alden boots at a decent price. I'm sort of on a budget. Here are some at the Magnoli Clothiers: https://host385.ipowerweb.com/~indyprop/osCommerce/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=28_32&products_id=54&osCsid=3df347704d963b34cec2417df1b30045

I even have the perfect Last Crusade Webely Mark VI in mind: https://www.westernstageprops.com/miva/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=WSP&Product_Code=IJG1

I'm going to get the bag from Magnoli. The jacket there is too much, so are the shirt and pants. I need to look into this Indyjacket site some more.

If you guys know of anyplace I can get some imitation boots or something, please let me know.

I'll let you know if I find anything.... I'm currently on a search for a cheaper alternative as well for the Alden's. Those boots are pretty particular, hard to find any that have that similiar a style. But I am looking.

Nice find on that pistol as well, I have a guy that I am talking to about a resin replica of the Hand Ejector pistol from Raiders. Going with that one for my costume.

Wor Gor- awesome Indy custom, bro! Love it!

HigHurtenFlurst- awesome Indy gear! hey, how does one go about distressing leather? I've had my Wested for about a year now and just started thinking it looks too damn nice. :) I've wanted to do that for a while now.

a wested jacket is a GREAT buy...although in California it's usually so hot I bake in it...:( I need to move to the east.

Yeah me too, Got a lamb and a goat skin Wested, a Keppler and a reblocked Akubra fedora, Mark VII bag with leather strap, holster, 12 plait 10 ft bullwhip and a pair of the pants and trousers from Wested as well as some actual WWII era officer pinks. I have a pair of aldens but I also found some cheapies that look identicle, I'll try and remember what store I ordered them from and get back with the info.

Everything, and I do mean everything that anybody could ever want/need to know about Indy and his gear...... Including distressing (massive debates about the moral implications of doing it to expensive gear), where to find your Aldens or the closest cheap alternatives, the who/what/when/where/why of the Fedora.... it's a really neat community there.

And, Trevolver, the distressing can be very easily overdone, but basically I used acetone (paint remover) and soaked some sturdy shop paper-towel to to rub the "shine" off the leather, especially in the higher-wear areas. Then I took some very fine grit sandpaper (200-400) to chafe up the seams and high-light the high-wear areas at the very edges of the sleeves, the elbows, collar, etc. (doesn't show up well in the photos but looks great in person) being very carefull not to damage any of the stitching.... Then some general scrapes and dings by rubbing it lightly on the gravel on my garage floor.... The whole distressing thing has to be done artistically, carefully, and above all slowly because if it's overdone it can look terrible. There's lots of examples of destroyed Westeds on the Indy forum where guys rushed it, or just scraped it up with a knife or something.... You're going to want to wear it in public, so it's gotta look good!

Have to agree with you on that, been a member there for a long time, it's a great resource for the Indy fanatic and to chat with other Indy fans. Found alot of stuff on there that I wouldn't have anywhere else as well.

Thank you HigHurtenFlurst! I appreciate it!

I'd like to kill the sheen of my jacket, and get the seams a bit distressed like you mentioned. I hadn't counted on acetone, but that's a cool tip. I'd be loath to do too much to it. I love the thing! :D thanks again!

Trev I can't tell you after seeing the pic of your sculpt how excited I am about your Indy piece. It is already penciled in as something I must have, and I showed my own mother the sculpt she said I must get it. :duff
