I like the Indy films and have seen them all several times but have never picked apart the differences in Indy between the three current movies. My personal favorite of the three is the last crusade. Can anyone more into Indy shed some light on if there are differences between Indy in the three films (costume, accessories, hat etc.)?

For all the small details and such check out Indygear.com

Mostly the fedora's were different bashes (shapes) in all the movies with the Raiders being the tallest crown and widest brim with little to no taper on the front of the crown.

The Wested jackets were slightly different in each movie, Raiders had a shorter jacket just below the waist. Temple had a longer jacket with a wider collar. Crusade had a mix of both, shorter but still cut below the waist, but with a smaller collar than Temple but wider than Raiders.

The web belts changed colors from film to film as did the shirt and pants slightly. You'll notice going back the pants were a much looser fit in Raiders than the other films.

The handgun changes, gloved hands in most of Raiders.
That's just a couple off the top of my head

Assuming we get the idol with the standard, I'd like to see the sandbag as the exclusive. It's part of the iconic moment but wouldn't bother too many fans if they missed it.

Thank you that helps. Has SS done any leather jackets on there military lines just to compare to and see what they are capable of?

I'm not sure how important actual leather would be on something 1/6th scale in particular.

As long as the jacket looks good I don't care if its leather or sythetic. I imagine they'll get something that is a good approximation.

What are most of the customs made with? A lot of the jackets I've seen so far look pretty damn good.

I just hope the Indy PF has a good pose, and a face sculpt that looks exactly like Ford's

I know Sideshow and others are into the "action" poses, but I really wouldn't mind something like this:

That is a good choice for a pose... I think it works better than the one CM chose (even though it might be the more iconic).

From a Hasbro Star Wars Q&A-- Is this common knowledge?

Q. I believe you previewed a 12" Indiana Jones figure at SDCC. Are both Hasbro and Sideshow Collectibles going to make 12" Indy figures or will there be an arrangement similar to the 12" Star Wars figures which Sideshow produces?

A. While Sideshow produces 12" figures under sublicense from us, they have a separate arrangement with Lucasfilm on Indy

I believe that is news. We knew that both companies were doing 1/6 Indys but apparently it's a seperate license. Not unprecedented, as SSC did 1/6 Van Helsing while Mattel did more toy like versions.

Interesting that the license could distinguish between version of 1/6 figures, maybe mass market Vs collectible?

Yes. Hasbro's license covers mass-market 12" INDY figures under $25 MSRP. Sideshow's license covers direct-market, limited edition 12" INDY figures for $59 and up. I got this directly from both Hasbro and LFL when I was in San Diego (because I just HAD to ask when I saw that Hasbro unveiled an Indy 12" of their own).

Actually, this is not so much different than the SW license really. It's just that Hasbro chose to discontinue the mass-market 12" SW figures so the explicit criteria destinguising the separate licenses were not necessary.

Cool, good to know, thanks for the info Irish. I was really worried when Hasbro announced 12" figures fearing that our chances of great 1/6 figures were gone.

No worries. Sideshow will be there to provide great 1:6 INDY figures. :) :rock

Another great giveaway gabberjawa? I'm all over that one too! I'd love to with that great Indy coin. I have already won the awesome Drew Struzan Indy 4 SDCC 07 poster from you recently. :D
