I'm not crazy about the GG Indiana on horseback statue (looks like a glorified toy with that paint job).

I am just going to wait for the SS p.f. for my lone Indiana Jones collectible.

With less exposure it actually looks a lot better. Face still sucks, though.

I agree. I'd expect a much better paint app than that for a "high-end" statue, especially the first from a huge license such as this. Maybe the same team that worked on Clone Obi-Wan did this. :monkey1

Even if the proto's paintjob was better I bet the production would come out looking like that.

Yeah, it does look better, but as with the majority of GG's statues, there is no texture in the painting, especially with the horse. Looks like Indy is riding on a carousel.

I expect GG to milk this license for all it's worth, so I can be picky about which pieces I pick up. I'm surprised they launched the line with two Crusade pieces anyways. I'm more interested in Raiders.

I think we've been spoiled with Weta's old horse/rider LOTR series... This does pale in comparsion to the amount of texture and energy those pieces had.

I spotted this eBay auction for a custom Indy head on eBay. Here's the link to it on eBay now:

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330193938552&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=014

So...what do you guys think of it? I considered buying it as a better head for my custom Indy I've already made. Let me know what you think of it.

Yeah, I'll still buy Sideshow's 1/6 scale Indy as soon as they put it up for Priority pre-order. :D

Looks a little exaggerated, Mike. Kinda Cro Magnon Jones.

Hold out until SS delivers theirs... its gonna be in the next couple months.

Hi Andy. That eBay auction link I posted lists that custom Indy head as a
"1/6 Andrew's Custom Headsculpt Indiana Jones". Did they copy your casting for the Indy head? I won't try to buy it if they did. Let me know. Thanks! :D

I really enjoy and respect your work, and I refuse to buy an unauthorized copy or "knock off" if it is one of your casting, or at least the casting idea you have for the upcoming 1/6 scale Sideshow Indy.

Wor-Gar I most likely will hold off and wait for Sideshow's Indy. I just wanted to get Andy's thoughts on that head too.

It's definitely not one of mine (I've never sculpted Indy before), I don't think I've ever seen that head. Thanks for the consideration though!

What makes you think it was Andy Bergholtz work? Because it says "Andrew"? :lol

The full name is listed on the photos.

Yeah, you're right. Andy's work would be incredible! Andy...do you know who Sideshow is using to sculpt their 1/6 Indy?

Its not a terrible headsculpt, but definitely better to wait for Sideshows.

And Trevor (don't know his last name :monkey3) is the sculptor for the first head they've shown... and its fantastic :rock

The Andrew selling that sculpted this posts over at OSW from time to time.
He has a very recognizable style and clean sculpts. They have a characiture feel to me, but I still admire his talent.
