Incredible! Without question one of the best re-paints to date. Subtle
but very effective.

On another note, your Indy sketch cards were my favorite of all the artists for both series. Your style is so unique and interesting. LOL, I still have yet to get one of them too. They usually go for a pretty penny, as I'm sure you know.

No. This is the EX, so the head slides right out. I'm assuming the regular version is attached? I'm sure somebody here knows.

Wish I could help out with that, but I really didn't have time to paint this one. I'm up, past my eyeballs in other work.

You really must McHaleyArt...It's an INCREDIBLE addition to the piece and really, really enhances the whole thing. I love mine!

P.S., AMAZING work on your Indy repaint. I've always love your repaints ever since I first saw your Fett PF a couple years ago.

Just to let you know, the bag strap on these are a bit light in color but if you take just a bit of natural leather conditioner ( I used Pecards) across the top of the strap it darkens it up quite a bit and is good for preserving the leather, which will in time, no doubt, crack and fall of due to it's thinness.

The problem with the jacket (more than the length, I think) is the material. It's really hard to recreate the folds, etc in the Raiders jacket. I have the 1st Hellboy PF and the material they used on the leather pants would have been perfect for Indy.

Jesus...those pics are just absolutely amazing. Just...stunning. I'm still stuck with Obama Jones so maybe one day I'll have to give it a shot at painting him up.

You have to lift the jacket up in the neck/shoulder area and pull it down on the bottom in front. Fresh out of the box is never any good. I also rrally pressed hard to get in some nice creases and it worked pretty well. You may even want to try some leather conditioner on the jacket as well but always give it a test first. The Pecards Leather Dressing is the brand used by museums to restore old damaged leather to bring it back to it's original state. The guy who made the whips (Dave Morgan) for the first three Indy films uses it as well and won't use anything else due to it's amazing properties. It really softens up leather (especially thinner leathers) at first touch. It really is amazing stuff. You can get it with a brown tint to it or in natural, which is what I use. My friend used the tint on his strap and he said it also darkened up really nicely.

Another thing I noticed on some of these repaints is that some people (not sure about you, Mark) have the hat ribbon painted black, when it was in fact a very dark brown. It only looks black because of the ribbon fabric and the way it reflects the light. The man who prepared the hats for Raiders (Richard Swales) also confirmed this many years ago as did the Deborah Nadoolman, the costume designer on Raiders, when I spoke to her several years back.

I did notice that about the hat. What I did was worked watered down flat tones I used on the hat into the ribbon (along with dry brushing) to dull it down a bit. I like the fact that the black underbase keep some separation between the 2 depending on the lighting.

Yeah, I kinda figured yours wasn't a flat black. It looks exactly as it does on film. If you were to paint it as it looks when not on film it just wouldn't look right.
Here is the actual hat from Raiders which was worn throughout most of the film. The gentleman who owns it came forward last year and was kind enough to share pics.

I'd give a left nut for this hat...just not my own.
