It's an exploitative piece of garbage, IMO. Scenes of rape and actual on-screen killings of animals aren't my idea of a good time.

Have to agree... an interesting plot idea, but the shock value violence is just awful. If you like watching animals killed (really killed) then this is the movie for you, if not then move on.

Movies released at the end of the year always suck up the awards, justified or not.
