The lack of disclosure to people that do not visit forums is definitely a problem. They saw something at SDCC and have that same impression when looking at website pics.

The piece shown at SDCC and also shown on site are one in the same and did not/do not show acrylic eyes. What was shown at SDCC and on site (again, the same exact item) includes the same technique that will be used in the final production of this piece in regards to the eyes....eg: Decals and paint application.

Hope that clears any confusion up in regards to what was shown at SDCC and on site for this item since many have been under the impression that acrylic eyes were shown on this piece at the con and the sale page.

I appreciate the reply Alex. I want to see a production piece in person first before even considering a purchase. I am sure you understand.

As an owner of the Batman and Superman busts, future owner of the Batman blue bust and possibly Green Lantern bust....well, let's just say I want to support this line but I reserve judgement. The curve for margin of error on these busts is small. Everything gets amplified at 1:1 scale.

More and more collectors are leaving SS everyday and not looking back. All I can say is you brought it upon yourselves.

I don't think is that sinister of a Sideshow plot but I will say that the company has changed a lot. More noticeable drops in quality on production pieces. Higher edition sizes. Higher prices. Changes made or shortcuts on details that could put a piece in the must-own category.

I think Sideshow has forgotten that they have more fans than customers. A customer doesn't put up with some of this stuff and sticks around seeking out a forum community to discuss the product. We are more fans than your average logical consumer. Sideshow also likes harvesting that fandom with Facebook and Twitter.

So why pull the business attitude when making some of the decisions like character choices or acrylic eyes? Easy: to remind you guys that this is a great hobby but think carefully before you pre-order something.

Very well said Chris.

Sideshow's heyday has come and gone. These days they are selling pieces solely on their reputation from past triumphs from 5+ years ago.

It's amazing to see how out of touch this company has become. Every champion gets dethroned and every empire eventually falls. It's only a matter of time.

they just need to stop showing previews / concepts and not put things up for order until manufacturing / cost is set in stone.
Giving everyone teasers and rushing product out for preorder because everybody is wondering about the teaser they saw 8months ago is proving to be detrimental.

Keep everyone in the dark during concept and just go back to showing a final product for the first time on the week-out preview then up for order the following week. Many less butts hurt..... ....

Problem is that if you remove previews and repaints/variants then you would have nothing going on. Sideshow knows how to harvest the excitement because they know their fanbase needs their staue fix or just the anticipation of a fix.

Honestly...this is what I always suggest to those who are unsure about purchasing a piece on Pre-Order. Wait until in hand photos start surfacing or if you have the ability to view it in person before making a decision. Collectors and fans should be satisfied with their purchase and I know the regular 30 day money back return policy isn't for everyone when they purchase an item on Pre-Order (especially for international collectors), so waiting to see the final production piece before making a decision makes 100% sense to me.

If I order a piece and it has an issue that I can't accept I can send it back no questions asked of do I have to send pics and wait on a SS response regarding if they will take it back or not. If I do send it back do
I pay shipping both ways and SS obviously gets great rates from Fed ex would I be facing a huge shipping cost to ship back items especially with the large box sizes. I am located fairly far north so any info would be great cause I am sure it would be pricy to ship something back for me regular post or reg fedex.

to defend a company that sells parts with the worst quality system,painted and sculpted that I have seen in a long time? (Chinese powa!!)


And come here to try to give us explanations to make us swallow hundreds of bugs without excuse and with a ridiculous compensation? (20-40$ even to retailers)

I don't like to have sideshowalex here ,like he deserve a pedestal, I see him a mockery to all serious collectors than we are here

but also there will be people who don't like reading to me, the question is: when are we going to act together to say loud & clear "we want a good quality team in SS??

Pictures are not required if one wishes to return an item outright. Any item can be returned (if bought directly from Sideshow) within 30 days of you receiving it from us. Simply contact our Customer Service directly by phone, email, or live chat to begin and complete the process of returning an item (should you need to). Typically the shipping costs to return the piece that someone is not satisfied with will be the responsibility of the customer but seeing if that can be waived is possible and can be asked during the return process.

Because you are international, they might make you break it instead of returning it.
