You're doing it again. I've mentioned once in this entire thread that the game sounded good so far, but wished to know more about its scope. My presumptions begin and end with what I've seen/read of the game, not on ND's past history or how popular their series are in relation to how I feel about their games. My posts have hardly been about the games themselves, but but more on why you find linger so much on not just the perceived quality and universal praise of the games themselves, but how gamers en masse don't feel the same way you do.

Why do you presume to know the measure to which I like this game or the Uncharted series? I actually quite disliked U3.

Boy there's just no pleasing you is there. But you did make a presumption. Doesnt matter what it was. I made one and so did you. So what? What's the problem with that? Isn't that what a trailer is for? Get speculation going? If this was The Last of Us by some unknown company, would there be have nearly as much interest in it? People caught on to this game because it's the new IP from Naughty Dog. Why does that matter? Because they are the guys behind Uncharted. Assumptions are made before anyone knows anything other than that. Only you seem to think that's a bad thing.

Day2 to 4: Love it, finish it
Day 5: Trade it

Just came across this, just wanted to say that this game looks awesome.

This looks incredible...had me at Naughty Dog.

All assumptions. Educated guesses based on experience that you didn't have a problem with.

I'm super excited about this game. Definitely a ton of potential to be one of the best.

I would've given this the same chance if I didn't know it was from Naughty Dog. I'll admit to being cautiously optimistic, but suggesting that my lack of a reaction to the opinions of board members here that you've listed as a sign of my bias toward the game is off the mark. I'll happily agree to disagree with any technical complaint you have with the game or the Uncharted series, but the stickler for me was your position of elitism over the crowd of people whose tastes you purport to not being able to comprehend.

It honestly felt like a normal debate on a forum to me, yeah. After a few years of being a forum member, I'm just use to this kind of thing I guess. If I think someone's breaking my balls, I'll break balls right back, but it's just that. No harm meant. Especially over something like a video game. Unless you say the nazis were right or that you're a fan of cancer, its just a couple guys shooting the breeze.

The PS Blogcast interviewed a couple of Naughty Dog developers about this game. Some new info, if interested:

excerpt:
-They want the quiet to be creepy, they want you to hear every footstep,voice and breath to find out where the enemy is.
-The build was from January
-They are not going to have cursing and violence for the sake of it
-The AI will behave differently based on number of people left and what weapons you have or they have.So if one guy is left he will be really scare and hide, so you have to fine him.
-Ellie is 14
-The want to make Ellie capable, she can get into danger sometimes but she can take care of herself.She helps you get out of rough spots.
-They want to give a certain amount of strategy in combat

Also, I like that the game makes you rely on health packs and not auto-regen like in Uncharted and other shooters.

I didn't think the girl looking like Page was a problem, but I guess ND didn't care for it hehe. I'm surprised they didn't see that coming. It was the first thing I thought when I saw the first screenshot. "hey, they got Ellen Page to work on this"

In any case, I'm glad they changed her. Would've really distracted me thinking it was Ellen Page the whole time when it's not.

Yeah, I'd say that's a big enough difference. They didn't have to change much. Naughty Dog sure knows how to get the most out of the PS3. Very nice screenshots.

Been playing Max Payne 3 lately and i'd love the shooting mechanics to be like that and not like Uncharted, just because having the character jog instead of run would be more keeping with the stamina of survival
