Yep. Liked the film enough to go home and google for figures! Saw this one and pre-ordered it with play.com

Then I realised I had been totally overspending, so he was one of many cancellations!

Now I have a bit of spare cash again, I thought I'd pick him up - hoping he will arrive today!

Dance was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. I physically cringed in the cinema watching it.

This character design is not too bad but, the movie was dog ____ i thought..i will admit the Avril song playing when the credits hit was alright.

I can't stand Anne Hathaway, though shes really sexy.

This is a film I have enjoyed more on repeat viewing. It's surpisingly layered. I was hoping for more characters, and am glad we're getting battle hatter. Here's hoping the knave of hearts and card soldiers aren't far behind.

Lalla just posted this on his blog. It's Kojun's head that he painted.
Neck is a little long but look brilliant with the real hair.

THAT is beautiful.

Film wad a travesty. Shame, as I am a big Tim Burton fan.

Are those also different hands he has put on the figure? ..just wondering because that thumb has no nail polish on it.

Wait. We're getting a battle Hatter?

Cool! That gives me hope for a Battle Alice! That would be soooo rad!

Ok, so had this figure delivered today, first thought. I like it.

I was concerned about durability - being a medi - but on closer inspection this body seems better made all round to older RAH301's.

As you can see the shoulder (which for me was always medi's weakest point - literally) is the same design. However, the pegs holding it together have been re-designed and the whole thing feels much sturdier. How can you define sturdier? It's hard to put into words, but the figure doesn't feel like it's going to disintegrate in your hands! Unlike the Stormtrooper I posed next to him for comparison. If you look closely at the Stormies shoulder you can see where the plastic has split. The other side had crumbled completely and is held together with super glue.

Another difference is height. He's taller! Look at the legs, they are both longer and hard to believe, thinner as well!

The actual plastic used in his construction seems to be of a much higher quality than the old bodies so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Maybe Medicom have pulled their fingers out and finally sorted their frankly shocking Quality issues, now if they could just do something about their ludicrous prices, I might consider buying a few more toys from them :lol

The tailoring is superb. Be warned though, anything this intricate in this scale will be delicate, I was wearing kid gloves removing his clothes and broke into a sweat on several occasions! Treat this one with care and I think - if you like the character or indeed the film - you wont be disappointed!

A nice addition to the Depp shelf!

Thanks for posting those Darthgothikus!

Your Johnny shelf looks great! :hi5:

Do you know if anyone is selling this at a fair price right now?

Also, would it be likely to find him at a fair price in say, 6 months or so?

What do you consider a fair price? I paid £129GBP ($202) from Play.com here in the UK - I dare say you could shop around and get him cheaper, but it's hard to tell with these figures whether the price will go up or down in six months or a years time.
I'm glad I cancelled my original order as I saved a few quid getting him now - but I could have missed the boat entirely and ended up paying a fortune on eBay later on.

I guess if you really want it, and you have thew cash, go for it.

To give you an idea of how we get shafted in the UK Play.com have the new Battle Hatter listed at £249GBP ($389.79) :horror

Thanks for that. Based on those figures, I think I'll try my luck in a few months. If it goes up instead of down I'll leave it. It's not a figure I have to have and I have a lot of irons in the fire right now.

If it goes the way of the Medi Joker then I'll buy it. :)

thanks for posting the pictures, Darthgothikus. It looks like Medi IS making improvement across the board. Hopefully the kaneda shoulders will be standard in future figures.

BTW, looking at your Depp shelf just amazes me the range of JD's talent. I cant think of any other actor in our time that has his range of roles.
