Did a search and could not find a thread on this show. Based on three books by Lev Grossman, Syfy did an amazing job in adapting the books (or book 1) to the show.

If you have cable, all are available unedited on Syfy.com (language was bleeped out on the broadcast originally)

Re-watching Season 1 now, and have read book 1. One of the few adaptations that, for me, surpasses the source material. Especially the second half of the season. Actors are all unknowns to me, and all did an amazing job.

My friend originally described this as an, 'adult Harry Potter' which just makes me laugh. Not even close.

I just finished watching the first season on Netflix. It's pretty good but the lack of nudity irritates me. They can say **** all day long and have a decent amount of gore but no boobs? I will say that it might be the first show I've watched in which every main character is annoying so damaged that I almost don't care if they live or die. It's an interesting storyline though and much darker than I was anticipating. I'll still check out the second season when it hits Netflix.

I picked up S1 on blu a few months back and have recorded S2 on dvr, but I haven't started it yet. Blu set has a great lenticular slip that caught my eye and ended up researching the show.

I didn't even know the show was on Syfy until after I watched the first season so I completely missed the second season airing on tv. I guess that explains the "no boobs". It's a shame because these are ridiculous and should be shared with the world.

The only character that hasn't really irritated yet me is Margot.

I'm hoping the characters aren't fighting with each other as much in the second season. It gets old and some of them argue and make bad decisions that are completely against what most people would do in the same situation when their lives are on the line.
