I stuck it on ebay to see what would happen, and it has been a funny few days. Emailed questions with people out of their minds about it.
One guy who professed to be a big superman fan asked “where was it from?” others ask… Are there feet in the boots? Are both hands Hot Toys hands?

Henry Cavill is only 6'1"? What the hell! Are they giving him thick heels to make him taller or is everyone else in the film really short. Is Danny Devito playing Perry White?
I thought you might have to modify the height a bit on this but I guess not. I would love to see that suit on a CR body though.

Hollywood is know for their magic. They've been making stars taller since Movies begin. They use to have their leading Actor stand on apple crate to kiss the leading woman. What height an actor actually is has nothing to do with the character they're playing. I saw Bruce Willis in person on the set of a film I was doing Security on (forgot what film) and the first thing I said was, "Man he's tiny." The make up lady towered over him.

amazing!!! Still ofcourse Christopher Reeves wore the best Supes outfit. but nowadays things need to move on and the underwear over the tights is rather old. i for one kind of like the new outfit, even though its kind of Asguardianish. But this Custom made figure is simply amazing!! great job! I hope the movie actually can bring back the superman franchise as Superman Returns was terrible, yes Roth played him well since he had Reeves look but still, terrible story, and he was basically made out to look and seem like he was jesus christ in a lot of parts of that movie imo. Glad Zod is back for the new film.

I agree with some of what you said but for different reasons. I loved the reeve superman when I was a kid because, let's face it, it's superman and the suit was very close to the comic book or Super Friends interpretation. But I really liked the Routh superman returns. I think it gave the suit an update but still stayed true to its roots. Unlike this new suit. Maybe it's more like newer superman suits that are in newer comics I haven't seen since I've been out of the comic shop for close to 20 years.
As far as painting him to be Jesus you are right but that is true for any superman because of his origin story. A super being sent his only son to earth to be its savior. Raised by earth parents he slowly learns his destiny and discovers his powers are meant to help mankind. He cares for the entire world and hears their cries while trying to answer their prayers.
If that doesn't sound like both I don't know what does.
Even in 1978 they painted him as a god who cares for everyone. He even sees his father in the heavens who warns him not to interfere in human affairs or change history.
The new suit is growing on me but right now my favorites go:

I'll get the figure regardless cause its superman.

Nice tidy sum you picked up for this bad boy Spenser.
Too be honest I have always like that his suit was made by his earth mum from alien materials, this new suit does have that alien materials feel(look to it) but doesn't look earthen made(i know in reality it was) so therefore it doesn't seem/feel right to me. I am sure it will grow on me but still...eh
Makes me wonder if Welling would have worn this suit or a variation of it and you know show it on smallville since it doesn't have the red shorts on it?
