I am very excited about these coming back. I almost caved and bought one of the R1 from eBay- glad I waited.

Glad people are getting a second chance at this but can't really get excited with all the repaints we got lately.

I used to give credit to Hot Toys and vote confidently with my wallet but, lately, i'm more reluctant to jump on every retool/repaint. I'd like more variety on my shelves but am doubting we'll get it.

No Poe for the sequel, no Cassian for Rogue One, No Lando for Solo, i'm not holding my breath for a Giddeon to go with the latest trooper releases. Even though it's mostly a new HS and imperial uniform with armor parts, i can see Ht overlooking him.

I won't worry about Gideon at the moment. HT releases are delayed and the S1 figures will be out probably when S2 is out. Gideon will probably get more "stuff" if he's a S2 release.

I have coupons on SS expiring soon...

Yeah, got a bunch from some polys that rolled in; course none of them are for stuff I want. Plus *laughably since Mando* was tryin' to ratchet the spending down. Don't know that I wanna tie funds up when IMO more critical characters haven't been released. I'd be better off getting a SSC gift card and stashing in account.

Yep on all counts.
Something tells me this will be a slow year for hot toys Star Wars. It will be mandalorian and not much else. They usually announce one Star Wars Figure per month (we got nothing in February) and the last few have been repainted stormtrooper, flame trooper, and a rerelease death trooper. Not good. Maybe we have 3-5 figures that will be announced before sdcc.
I am glad about the death trooper, but I bet nothing truly exciting until sdcc. I gave up on bespin han and lando until then.

For those that already have a Death Trooper, are the holsters likely to be fine in the long run if you never use them to actually hold the pistol? I?ve always been wary about putting the guns/blasters into the holsters long-term for any of my figures.

I love that the rifle has weathering to make it look really old. If you compare to the RO version, the little red markings are either gone or highly faded and scratched. That's nice detail work.

What's even more frustrating is that the current sanitary situation (aka covid-19 / Coronavirus) will likely delay figures even more than usual.

Well, i'm living in a pretty temperate area and none of my three Death Trooper's holsters are showing anhy sign of weakness.

I've got the Death Trooper Specialist Deluxe and the Death Trooper Specialist but am tempted to pick up one of these new ones. Each would have enough differences on display.

On the plus side, nothing from The Rise of Skywalker.

Seems they are probably done with ST stuff. There will never be any such announcement of course. Makes a lot more sense to make toys from content the money spending fan base actually enjoys.

But I'll be over here waiting on needles and pins for the announcement of that Rose Tico figure a certain "insider" has insisted is coming [emoji38]

I usually have a keen eye for such details, but could someone fill me in on the differences between the regular Death Trooper and the Specialist? Is it just the pauldron and head-lamp or is there more differences I'm not noticing?

I guess having them T-posing or Museum-posing in January instead of February is worth $59 (x the number they order) for some people :rotfl
I'm looking to get 4 with the E-11D. Couldn't care less about the DLT-19D.
