My one-off payment plan just got easier now that Disney has allowed 4K on the iTunes Store. My Marvel and SW content has been auto-upgraded. Now my boycott can end!

(TV series, however, remain 1080p for all studios)

Is it finally time for Wor Gar to do another photo shoot?

Amazing episode!!
Some really great call backs to the movies and certain species that were included.
That final scene was a ***ing godsend!!!
I am hoping Favrea and Filoni kill off a certain character before an author of a certain novel gives the finger to the fans!!!
Other than that, great start to the season and I feel the best is still to come.

Did everyone notice the origin of
Cob’s swoop/speeder bike? It was cobbled together from an engine of Anakin’s pod-racer!

I?m astounded how much ground they cover in the first episode. The pacing is definitely a step up from season one. Does anyone know why the aspect ratio changed in the second half?

The aspect ratio change was to give it an IMAX big screen style impact for the battle with the dragon. Was pretty effective I thought.

Yes that makes sense and agree it looked spectacular in 4K.

In the back of my mind I was thinking ... ?are they going to show this at Imax pretty please??

Agree. Jaw-dropping:love. Don't wanna overhype (tho a fanatic about this show:google) but Favreau and Filoni definitely were showing their luv for SW:clap

Aside from the little cameo at the end, the big takeaway from the episode was that gaffi sticks are actually toothpicks for Banthas.

Yeah I get the sentiment, but its hardly new for star wars to reference itself. :dunno Aside from the more Tatooine centric episodes Mandalorian has done a good job referencing the old stuff while having its own vibe.

Totally sick of Tatooine but that's just one of the things you have to accept. All 3 of the prequels, 2 of the OT, 1 of the ST(?) ... twice in The Mandalorian -- and I don't know how many times it made an appearance in other media. Too many.

This was a very entertaining episode and not one I want to think too much about. I think moving forward it's best to remember that this is aimed at kids first, adults second, and it's best to let go of any notions on how it should play out or be depicted in terms of style -- that is to say, this is as good as it gets, no point nitpicking it.

IMO it was a great kick start to the season, weaving in fan service with new. Gave a certain fan group a nod without bogging show down; and leaving the door open for more later. Not sure how that could have been done without going to Tattooine.

Appreciate - as writing a character arc goes - small touches like Mando now being more easy-going about droids, and the culture of the Sandpeople. And the dry humor. Was happy to see the scrappy mechanic again.

LOL figure HT is besides themselves with joy; thinking of all the figs they can put out.

Ok here goes:

SPOILERS!!!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

The ending final shot of the battle with Mando shooting out from his mouth and slide landing on the sand could easily be inserted into a 300 million dollar movie that’s how epic that shot looked.

Just WOW!
