Glad Disney came to his senses. They made their store brand Fett with as much of Boba/Jango’s DNA as they could fit and they ultimately bring him back anyway. At the end of the day, all they made with Din was a glorified baby sitter

I don't know man. I don't think Mandalorian would have amounted to anything without that father/son emotional bond. It was the crux of the entire series.
I sure as hell don't care about Darksabers or "who's gonna rule Mandalore" or any of that.
If there's no real emotion behind this Boba Fett series it's gonna be 8-10 episodes of watching Robert Rodriquez play with action figures in his backyard. That's fun for a few minutes, but as a series?

In the first season, yes it was. In the second, nobody cared until he was kidnapped with 2 episodes to go.
The part you don’t care about is what a majority of people are waiting for in season 3. I’m sure Disney knows they have to shoehorn Grogu in for the toys, but I don’t care if we never see him again either.
To me, the babysitting story is done with Baby Groot, err Grogu. Unless there’s a significant time jump where Grogu grows as a character instead of a cute accessory, I’d rather much see Din develop from his cult upbringing to the “real world” Mando ways of living.
Mando always was Boba Fett.

I liked that Mando existed for a bit in his own personal somewhat inconsequential hero quest, not allot of effect on the big picture.
At once building up his personal armor, signet, weapons, (faceless) identity towards what he deems the idealized Mando, while simultaneously chipping away at that same, rules, armor. identity, the "way", towards finding his own.
Having completed his quest, he's left holding what we find is some great defining symbol of all Mandalorians.
So who he is, what he does with that next, is a great set-up for his next arc.
On the other hand, Fett is from the go taken to, and positioned into a completley different status quo and role, set to take over the criminal underworld.
Who likley doesn't give crap about the fate of Mandalor, only as much it will serve his interests.
Both these shows (and characters) have their own strong identity, and intrigue me, as well as where they might eventually cross back over, likley with the Jedi (Ahsoka) show, and whatever Rangers/Republic themed narrative they might still spin-off, all have to come together to defeat likley Thrawn.

Definitely allowed to like both. I think people have just become accustomed to taking any constructive criticism or even sarcastic joke like when I said “glorified babysitter” too seriously. Din is cool in my book. But I stand by when I said I wanna see Din evolve to more than being a babysitter.

Very Disneyish^, yet I can see it, his final arc recognizing no one "way" or archaic symbol of the Darksaber should define Mandalorians, but his actual actions should. after a futile attempt to unite them, forgoing the saber, and leaving the schisms between Mandos (I think one of their own (Sabine?) even built a lethal weapon that is drawn specifically to beskar), to their own devices, and fate.
To return to Omera's planet 'sanctuary", where she can remove the helmet for good.
And yeah Julia Jones would certainly more than justify it.

I like Din but I’ve always said if you let a casual watch this show on mute and added some color, there’s no way anyone would think he isn’t Boba Fett

Please be respectful to Clan Vizsla and the Mauldalorians.I don’t recall any Mando walking up to a face scanner with a helmet on, expecting it to work, like some bozo.
He may not have a dad bod like Boba’s but definitely not as bright Baby Yoda. And don’t get me started on him leaving his Jetpack in the middle of a fight and forgetting it
